It can take a few months to get rescheduled for the Oath, but I've also heard of cases where the person was rescheduled a couple of weeks later.  If you can delay travel by even a few days and then do a same-day passport (which is available in NY if you have proof of travel), I would highly recommend it.

You went through everything smoothly and quickly----if you can, get it over and done with immigration-wise, imo.

Okay, I'm going to call the airline and see what the options are... This is making me so stressed!

Do I have to travel domestically on a US passport? Or could I use my UK one as I have been doing up until this point?

I travelled to Colorado earlier this year, I just used my state driver's license.

Yes, I received my letter, and I saw the date posted online prior to that too. I've kind of been in denial because they've scheduled it for October 19th, and I already have flights booked for the 18th-23rd to visit family in Colorado. Agh! (I honestly thought the N400 would take close to a year to complete and never dreamt this trip could interfere with the process!!)

How frustrating!

Yeah, my wife also had to change a flight because of her upcoming Nov 2 interview, but fortunately it was on Southwest. (In case y'all don't know, Southwest has the most generous change/cancellation policies around, so if they fly where you're headed, definitely consider them!)

No.  I just mentioned the passport thing to get that out of the way as well since you would qualify for same-day processing if you wanted to go that route.

You only need a US passport to exit and enter the US.

My ceremony is on the same day as yours, too, btw.

I just realized that I'll need to carry two passports to go to Canada.  :bonk:

I need my Canadian passport to enter Canada and I need my future US passport to return to the US.

I'll probably apply for a NEXUS card since I don't know if I want to carry two passports for a short cross-border trip.

USCIS updated their interface again. B-). I wonder why they called the interview letter as RFE as if I have to send something within 22 days. But anyway, back to studying ^_^.

Delta were really understanding about our flights and have allowed us to move it back 24 hours. I'm hoping that will be enough time? The oath ceremony is at 8.30am in Brooklyn and my flight is at 6pm out of La Guardia...

I just got off the phone with USCIS. They told me that we were in line for our interview but it was retracted for some reason and status is now back to " we have scheduled your biometrics".

I wonder if anyone else has experienced the same. I guess we should do info pass to get more clarification on the case.  We are filing from NJ, is there anyone else from NJ on this thread?

Just have your stuff packed and ready to go...if you're doing park and fly, have the stuff in your car when leaving for Brooklyn in the morning to save you a trip home first.  Considering the timing, I'm pretty sure you'll be ok....

You sure you don't have an RFE listed in the EGOV status?

Unless your interview date is 22 days from now, and they consider that as a "request for further evidence" (like a request that you show up lol)

My interview date is 21 days from now. The days in my USCIS profile have gone down from 22 to 21 now. So I think it's more like a request to show up lol. That being said, I just realized my interview is in 3 weeks . Are you excited for your oath ceremony? I cant imagine your excitement!:jest:

My interview date is 21 days from now. The days in my USCIS profile have gone down from 22 to 21 now. So I think it's more like a request to show up lol. That being said, I just realized my interview is in 3 weeks . Are you excited for your oath ceremony? I cant imagine your excitement!:jest:

I recently took on a second job last week, so my free time to stress out/become anxious/get excited about stuff has dwindled since my mind is more occupied these days ;)

I'll stress out about it the day before, like what happened right before my interview.

For me, thus far, it hasn't been a feeling of "excitement" in any way, more like "ok I just want to get this over with now" (the whole immigration process, I mean, dealing with USCIS on any level).  I'm more excited about my upcoming amicable divorce from USCIS after the 19th :D

Hello gang!

We received a status update today.  Our case was transferred to a different center (probably Montgomery, Alabama).  The estimated completion date changed from July 2018 to January 2018.  No letter yet ...
