Interview scheduled for Nov 2 (from a PDF appointment letter dated Sept 28). Crazy early given Chicago's backlog, but we're not complaining!

The letter doesn't say anything about combo, but after reading here in VJ, I (USC spouse) will definitely be there just in case. Will report back after.

I wonder if it's a combo interview with your I-751 application and that's why you got your interview date quickly?

There was another person who did their combo interview and they got their interview date super fast!  :dancing:

Hi everyone,

We also filed online on July 14 and received notification same day. Finger prints done on august 11. Uscis Elis website turned to " we have scheduled your interview and will mail you the interview letter soon" on august 15th while uscis status website was reading " biometrics appointment was scheduled".

We thought we would be receiving an interview letter shortly after, however yesterday elis account was updated and now only reads " we have reviewed your biometrics" in other words " we have scheduled your interview, ......" has disappeared. Anyone had the same? we started worrying as most applicants filed around same day either had their interviews done or are scheduled for their interview. Any ideas?

We received the gc in 6/14 and filed based on 3-yr rule.

Thanks in advance.

I am an August online filer and I noticed the same change at my end. A couple of other online August filers experienced the same change too. It seems like the ‘Interview Scheduled’ status was rolled back to ‘We have reviewed your biometrics’.

In my opinion, your actual status did not change and it is just a case of USCIS taking the ‘Interview Scheduled’ status off since it was misleading and was more of an ‘In line for Interview’ status.

If she was eligible to apply for the N400, then it doesn't matter if the ROC is still pending.  It's not your fault they are taking so long to process the ROC.  Lots file both concurrently....the N400 will force USCIS to adjudicate the I-751 either right before or at the same time during her Naturalization Interview.

Coming over here from the August 2017 thread...It looks like my wife will be in that same boat in regards to them adjudicating both at her naturalization interview and I'm really not looking forward to it. Congrats on your interview.

Because of it being a double interview with me involved asking questions they already have answers to based on a stack of evidence we sent in July 2016.

The ROC portion of the interview will be more of just a formality since they are adjudicating the N400 on the same day, they won't go very indepth into the ROC part and instead just make sure they have all supporting documents before moving onto the N400 interview.  So I wouldn't worry too much about it.

It seems like my profile is following the same pattern too(I hope not :)). My status changed to "look for the interview mail" but my uscis website status still shows "Biometrics reviewed". Lets see where it goes from here.

Received my Oath Ceremony Letter in the mail yesterday :)

Will take place in Brooklyn.

@vkhutchings did you get yours yet?

Yes, I received my letter, and I saw the date posted online prior to that too. I've kind of been in denial because they've scheduled it for October 19th, and I already have flights booked for the 18th-23rd to visit family in Colorado. Agh! (I honestly thought the N400 would take close to a year to complete and never dreamt this trip could interfere with the process!!)

I guess I have to send the letter back and re-schedule my ceremony, but it makes me super anxious for some reason. I'm wondering if I should change our trip plans instead... I have this fear that they won't re-schedule me for months if I say I can't attend. Have you seen any stories on here about this?

It can take a few months to get rescheduled for the Oath, but I've also heard of cases where the person was rescheduled a couple of weeks later.  If you can delay travel by even a few days and then do a same-day passport (which is available in NY if you have proof of travel), I would highly recommend it.

You went through everything smoothly and quickly, and this day has been a long time coming since you first arrived in the US----if you can, get it over and done with immigration-wise, imo.

Too bad you didn't mention the travel dates during your interview---there may have been a way to have been scheduled for the Oath around that originally.  :(
