It's not official data, but just to make sure people know if they don't realize already: you can search VJ N-400 timelines based on local field office: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/citlist.php?cfl=&op5=5,10,11 (then choose your Local CIS office from the dropdown menu at the bottom).

These are only as accurate as users make them, so here's another friendly reminder to everyone to create & update their timeline! :-)

Thanks for this! Looks like (at least, for the Seattle field office) the first pages are the most current applications. It looks like anywhere from 4-6 months for the interview in Seattle... which is better than 10 months per the USCIS processing times (processing apps from October 2016). Hope I am reading that right. Thanks for the link, @AK_2014!

July 12, 2017 (Day 07) -  Check is cashed by USCIS

July 19, 2017 (Day 14) - Biometrics appointment letter mailed

August 02, 2017 (Day 28) - Biometrics appointment at Seattle Field Office

August 28, 2017 (Day 54) - Case is "in line" for an interview"

August 28, 2018 (Day 419) - Interview is scheduled

Looks like same in Philadelphia too! 5-6 months delay from the link, rather than 1 year delay from the USCIS processing times (processing apps from August 2016)!!! I hope I am reading this right too!!!

Me too! Looks like your Field Office is Yakima WA? You'll have to update us on how 'speedy' Yakima is on sending you your interview notice :) Seattle appears to be 4-6 months based on VJ timeline, but 10 months based on USCIS timeline.

I checked the USCIS timeline (which I think is generally slow/behind the actual processing dates), and according to that, Yakima is processing apps from January 2017! Fingers crossed for you!

So my case in in line for interview. Under my case history it says:

"We will issue our decision and mail it to you.  Any action or step you may need to take will be on your decision notice. "

Is that a normal standardized statement?

I haven't seen that one yet when someone is still in line for an interview.

I would assume that type of message usually comes AFTER the N400 interview has taken place..did you file another form at the same time for them to make a decision on (fee waiver, ROC)?

No I haven't filed anything extra. Yeah, that's what I thought to, that it would be after the interview. Of course this worries me now :/

Worst case---it's just a glitch and will self-correct within the next day or so.

Best case---they've decided to not interview you, and are just mailing you out the oath letter :D

Think of it that way so you don't stress over it ;)

Yeah, that makes sense.  I'm curious now---why did you want it relocated?  Is it due to delays/backlog at your current office?

Another Canadian here...from Toronto :)

Well, the Yakima and Spokane offices' processing timelines are 3-4 months shorter!  :wow: I can drive there in 2-4 hours!

I have something to discuss. In my application, I filled out the change of name section because the order of my name needed to be corrected. So I changed my name from, for example, Gary Doe John to John Gary Doe. Will this name change make my application slower since they would need to do background check for the two names? Or would they just do the background check for the old name only? I checked my USCIS account and it still shows that the case has been received and they sent me a NOA. In reality, I already had my biometrics done earlier of this month. I have also checked from Houston's field office that they only do judicial naturalization ceremony. That means I do not even have to wait for the judicial naturalization ceremony like other offices where they have two separate type of ceremonies (judicial and administrative). Since I have not received any notification after my biometrics, I am getting anxious everyday, And now with all the flooding that happened recently in Houston, the area where USCIS office is located, it was under 16 feet water. Since I mailed in my application, I am just worried if my file got lost with all the recent flooding. So many possibilities are running through my anxious mind right now.
