My interview was this morning. The officer first interviewed me and my wife for I-751 and was approved on the spot. But, as for the N-400...she said she was going to approve me but I recently moved to another state 4 months ago, so she said she couldn't approve me today then. She had to send all my application to the other USCIS state where I currently reside, but she wrote a long note on the application that everything was fine. :( Does anyone know anything about this? Like, how long will it take to receive an oath?

- I had my interviewed scheduled notification on June 19th.

- I had my actual interview on July 25th

- Today, I got this email saying they are still reviewing my case

 

Has this happened to any other N-400 filers here? Thanks in advance!

After some googling, it seems like it was an automated notification in my settings. So it really means nothing :(

Guys, I didn't apply for a passport at the ceremony because I didn't have time to take a picture before hand - I also didn't have the time to wait in line there as the line was huge. Either way - just wanted to share that my regular (non rushed) application at the post office that I did July 21st, shipped out today August 3rd. Regular processing took 13 days. I didn't have to spend the time in line, I didn't have to pay the $60 for expedited service and I took my picture with my iphone at home - then used https://www.idphoto4you.com/ to create the passport photo file. Cost like $1 at walgreens instead of $15 if you go and take a passport photo there.

 

Anywho, just my 5 cents worth..

Naturalization (Eligeble for Naturalization 07/16/2017) - Package send out late, not sure I was going to send it out before or after ROC approval.
[07/29/2017]: Day 00 - Full package sent to Phoenix, AZ lockbox using Fedex 3 day.
[08/02/2017]: Day 04 - Package arrived, signed by E.Dejesus.
[08/02/2017]: Day 04 - NOA
[08/07/2017]: Day 09 - Check cashed
[08/21/2017]: Day 23 - Walk-in Biometrics

About the interview itself: 

we went through the application. Since I had many trips done outside of US, the officer went through each trip to count days I was away, as well as the purpose of each trip. 
Everything else that I was asked was about the application in general, all yes/no questions, civics and English test. 

My personal suggestion: 

Please try to make yourself as calm and comfortable as you can. They are not there to cut you down, but just to verify the information you have provided. 

I personally had a feeling that my interview was like meeting with an old friend and we spoke what has happened in my life for past 5 years. 


Hope this will help everyone. 

Stay strong! Interview line is moving, just be patient.

My info updated below. One suggestion on the interview: remember to go through your submitted N400 application form. I was asked about a number of questions on my application form which I had a had time recalling. Nothing critical, and I got approved on the spot. But, it doesn't hurt to go through your form prior to the interview. Besides that, just stay cool. Good luck to everyone!

So, the whole ceremony was kinda over the top ridiculous - but fun to have witness. I didn't get my passport application submitted because the line was monstrous and I didn't plan to do it then before - so I hadn't filled it out nor gotten a picture taken. I'll just go to my local post office and get it done some time in the future. Don't have any immediate international travel plans until end of the year anyway.

 

So, they showed a recording of Donald Trump, wishing us good luck and telling how honorable it is to be a US citizen. If it would come from anyone else than him, It would have been better received. Having him talk is a comedy in itself. So, to anyone that will be going to the oath anytime soon - brace yourself. Donny video may make you lol! 

First of all I will like to say congratulations on becoming a US citizen. You need not guess since you went through the entire process and finally took the oath.

 

On the other hand I find it rather confusing or I must say sad, that you would bash a sitting President and come into a beautiful and informative forum such as this one and make such a statement. I am about to take my oath as well but will not behave like this. I will show respect and show up with an open and accepting heart. I will be proud and not sarcastic.

Exactly a year to the day that my case was received by USCIS, they have scheduled my interview (haven’t received the letter yet). I’m so excited! Now I better get to studying up...

Applied for Naturalization based on 3-year Residency 

July 05, 2017 (Day 00) -  Submitted N400 Application, filed via USPS to Phoenix Lockbox

July 10, 2017 (Day 05) - NOA received

July 12, 2017 (Day 07) -  Check is cashed by USCIS

July 19, 2017 (Day 14) - Biometrics appointment letter mailed

August 02, 2017 (Day 28) - Biometrics appointment at Seattle Field Office

August 28, 2017 (Day 54) - Case is "in line" for an interview"

August 28, 2018 (Day 419) - Interview is scheduled

October 4, 2018 (Day 462) - Citizenship Interview AND Oath (offered same day oath by ISO in Seattle, WA)

 

Officially a U.S. Citizen - Proud to be an American

Just got my interview letter! Drumroll 🥁..... Thursday October 4, 2018 at 7:15am!! Gonna get to studying those questions and making sure I have my ducks in a row. 

 

Question: we’ve since had a baby since I applied for citizenship. Though it’s not indicated, would it be advisable to take a copy of his birth certificate with me? Thanks!
