I'm thinking of doing a walk in as well...google the office and see what reviews, if any, are on it?  Might give you a feel for how a walk would be accepted/if they do them.

Yes you are still an IOE applicant like all of the others under the online filing section.

Yeah, I already did that and no mention about a walk-in. I might just keep my appointment because I am off from work on that day.

Welcome!  Since you are not going to send in your application until August, it would probably be more useful for you to wait for when the August Filers thread starts next week ---I'm thinking that you can get more accurate comparison information regarding the processing timeline of others who filed in August too, like you.  Good luck with your application!

 

Just to make sure---you are determining your filing date based off of 3 years from the green card date, and not your marriage anniversary date, right?  Sometimes people get their true filing date mixed up with their marriage date...don't want your application to get rejected  .

Yes!  Our biometrics appointment is actually in Birmingham, Alabama, where we live.  I expect the interview to be in Montgomery at the USCIS office.  We'll compare notes after the 8th.

My biometrics is in Long Island City, NY...interview in Queens, NY (well, technically the Queens and NYC offices operate out of the same building in Manhattan---just on separate floors).  And interestingly enough, separate processing times as well.

 

So I guess "technically" I'm having my interview in the Queens office temporarily located in the middle of Manhattan

I haven't gotten an interview date yet---still have to complete biometrics in a couple of weeks.  I'm sure you'll get your FP letter soon.

 

I've heard that the average time between biometrics and being inline for an interview is around 30 days, not sure?

Really it's personal preference---some people see a lot of things wrong with online filing, some people see a lot of right things with it.

Before I decided to go with online filing, I read a lot of threads on this forum and others to get as much of a rounded view as I could.

Hello Fellow July Filers!!!!!!

 

I submitted my N400 online today!!! Good luck to all of us!

 

The lesson that I learned today is when you upload the documents, do not name the file using coma or period. Just use dash (-). The system freaked out when I used coma or period and that delayed me for a few hours before my (nerd) husband figured it out!!!
