Today I went for my interview... Here's my experience.

I arrive at 8:30 for a 8:50 interview. Checked in as usual and waited for my number to be called. Around 9:15 I was called, my officer was a female. We walked all the way to the back to her office down the hall. In her office before I sat down I was asked to stay standing and raise my right and swear to tell the truth blah blah blah... Sat down and interview started, she ask for my passport, green card and ID. Reviewed my application confirming my social security, address, DOB etc. Then we proceeded to the Yes/No questions, then asked if I travel outside the US while my application was pending which I did twice and I advised. Then she asked me if I filed my tax for this year and I advised yes and she asked to see my transcript luckily I printed it out. I signed my application and that was it with that part.

We proceeded to the English part, was asked to read a sentence "When is President's Day?" and then she asked me to write the answer "President's Day is in February" (I was a little nervous and I had little moment where I couldn't spell February for a sec :blink: of course I snapped out of it fast hahaha)

Then proceeded to the civics questions:

- What is one promise you make when you become a United States Citizen? Be loyal to the United States

- Who is the Governor of your state now? Rick Scott

-Who was was the first President? George Washington

-What movement tried to end racial discrimination? Civil rights movement

-Name two national U.S holidays. Thanksgiving and Christmas

She advise me that I passed and handed me a paper with "Congratulations" ticked and she advised me that I'll get a letter with the Oath date. And we were done.

She walked me out. Interview lasted about 15min with no hiccups or anything.

Almost done... Yay!!

Seems like im one of the few people that has had an interview and still haven't heard a thing yet. My lawyer said USCIS said my case is pending background checks which is odd because i already attended the interview in Oct 2017.

Any recommendations? Maybe file 144b?

My field office is Newark ,NJ ,interview at 1pm . Both my husband and I passed the interview yesterday .We went there pretty early by 1130 and they checked us in early, no issues .The interview was at 1pm,they called us at 1:15pm and it took only about 20 minutes for me. It was a real breeze .

I had to swear in for the interview and do the index fingerprinting .The officer checked my passports(old and new) and green card .

Name 3 original colonies

What is the Pledge of Allegiance

Who is head of executive branch

What movement ended racial discrimination

The officer was very nice and courteous ,asked me fews questions on my n400 -where do you stay ,last trip outside US ,any point out of status ,how many children ?

Ok now for the "not so good" news -Of all days ,it had to be a snow day and Newark was not doing Oath ceremonies in the afternoon .So we were told we passed but no oath that day !!!

So I have to again wait for a letter from them ...its so painful and frustrating !

Anyone gone through this ?

Thank you. It is nice to finally make it to the end of the journey! There were 70 people at the Oath ceremony yesterday from I think 36 countries.. good luck to all those now waiting the end of their journey

The interview was less than 30 minutes. I actually waited the same length of time after approval for a supervisor to check the file and to to get handed the notice of oath ceremony. The ceremony itself took around 90 minutes yesterday and there were 70 people which I am sure added to the time it took. Overall I have always had a good experience with the Philly field office. However I am glad to have ended my dealings with them
