5 mins later he gave me a paper and it had the tick mark against approval.. he said I could expect oath letter in 30 days & said Congratulations and walked me out of the door.. Now I wait for the oath letter.

@SamBillz Did you hear anything? I have heard from some of my friends who had their whole process completed within 6 months from the Houston field office. Ours seem to take so long. I was under the impression that online filers like yourself would be a little faster than paper filers like me, but it looks like it doesn't matter if you file online or through paper. I just hope to get an interview date by January. It's just getting prolonged for no reason. The wait is so frustrating.

I'm new here also. It's crazy to see that some of you have already become Citizens! Congratulations! And good luck to everyone else!

I haven't heard anything about my case since then, unfortunately. When I check my case status on egov, it just says "My Biometrics Appointment Was Scheduled"; and when i login, the latest status (July 28, 2017) is "We reviewed your biometrics. You do not need to do anything at this time. We will let you know if we need anything else from you as we continue to review your application." Do you think it's worth doing an infopass since i'm still not officially even in line for interview, or should I just be patient wait it out?

If someone could please update my tracker; talked to a Tier 2 officer today who advised that as of 10/26/17 my status is now that the interview is scheduled. Haven't received a notice yet. No updates when I check online.

 

This is the 3rd time I've called USCIS for updates as my case is outside normal processing times. The first two times I called they told me that Tier 2 officers are not available and to call back another day and another one said that the lines were down for transfers. I kept calling, as I assumed they just didn't wanna transfer me(looks bad on their record or something?) They just read what the processing times were as robots and were not of any help.

 

Eventually i got someone who was happy to transfer me. Unfortunately the first Tier 2 officer also just read what's already said on my case status online. I asked if he saw any updates and he said there are none.

 

I called again. Spoke to a very nice lady who gave me the updates. I am a joint i751/n400 filer. She advised that I will probably have a joint interview to adjudicate both cases and that filing both cases caused a delay as there are two different offices adjudicating each case and that the two offices don't communicate with each other. My file gets sent back and forth apparently. Very frustrating to go through so much trouble to recieve any sort of valuable information.

You can try calling USCIS and speaking to a Level 2 officer.  Ask them if you have cleared your background check.   The regular customer service people won't be able to tell you this info, you have to request to be transferred to a L2 officer who can see your personal case info.

Welcome! We have our interview in Chicago tomorrow (we're prepared for a joint I-751/N-400 interview, though the letter just mentions the N-400). I hope your date comes along soon, too!

 

We're not entirely sure how ours will play out (continuous residence: technically, she was never gone for more than 6 months in any one trip, but there were successive absences of approximately 2, 3, 1 and 4 months within an 11-month span while we were abroad together for my research grant—she returned to the US briefly three times during those 11 months for school/work). But it's certainly worth a try. The physical presence days are fine. We'll update how it goes.

do you call the field office or the 800 for USCIS?

Hey guys, my husband had his interview this morning. He passed!!! YIPPEE!! He said the 3 questions they asked were easy, the most trouble he had was remembering dates we traveled out of the country, He actually didn't remember dates, so the officer just asked where he went and was satisfied with that. We did request a name change, because my husband has 2 last names like most hispanics, but they insisted that he did not need to have a judicial ceremony and he can just use one last name. I don't know how his citizenship document is going to come out, it will probably still have 2 last names, and therefore he'll have to have that on his passport. Oh well. I guess it is what it is. I'm just happy he passed and it's over with. His appointment was at 8am and he was done at 8:50. He said the officer was extremely nice; this was in Greer, SC.
