How to correct submitted ds form 260

I am so worried when I reviewed my submitted DS 260, how to I correct this error. 

 

I answered no to the question have you ever been refused a visa... etc... the question was confusing for me. How do I change my answer from no to Yes because I was denied a visitor's visa last year. 

 

I honestly have no intention to lie or anything. It was an honest mistake. I am soo worried, how do I correct this error. Someone pls help!

Is there anyone here who made a similar error? How did you correct this? And were  you approved a visa?

you can't change the ds 260 once it has been submitted... you can mention the mistake at the interview if you want to.

Has anyone been same situation? How did go for you? Did your visa get approved? 

 

I will ask my husband or lawyer to call the NVC for correction. I hope to resolve the situation before my files gets to the US embassy in the Philippines.

I don't understand the confusion; you were denied a tourist visa last year and the DS-260 asks if you've ever been denied a visa??? 

 

At best, they'll see it as a mistake, at worst they'll see it as misrepresentation. I would call NVC, ask for a Supervisor and see if they can re-open the DS-260 for you so you can correct it. Only Supervisors can re-open it and not many are willing to do it but it has happened.

 

If that fails, write a statement and when you go to the interview, have the written statement in your hand and hand it over as you have your interview. I say write a statement because you'll remember to verbally mention it now but once you're there for the interview, you'll be nervous, your brain is all over the place and it's easy to forget.

The question was Have you ever been refused a US visa , been refused addmission to the United States or withdrawn your application for admission at the port of entry ?

 

When I was filling out the application I was unsure whether refusal is the same as denial. The question seem like being refused admission to the US at the port of entry, I was confused. 

 

Thank you for your reply. I will make sure to mention it during the interview that what happened was an honest mistake that I misunderstood the question, and that I was denied a tourist visa last year.
