Enlighten me please. What part is true and what part is false that you stated not "entirely true" in response to my answer to the OP? Can you provide a link to where you acquired your fact from? Thank you

This is what I referred to to as not entirely true: "USEM Consulate requires it to be no older than 6 months at the time of the interview. " My logic is - this maybe true IF the OP is getting interviewed in Manila because she is in the country and therefore can commit crimes in-country which will be reported to the NBI. Therefore an NBI clearance that is as fresh as you can possibly get is a good idea. But the OP is in Dubai, so if she got her NBI more than 6 months ago and did not go home to the Philippines in between that time and her interview, then the NBI record will not change.

also "USEM Consulate requires it to be no older than 6 months at the time of the interview." is kind of a blanket statement isn't it? i appreciate you may be saying that based on your length of experience on here but the NBI clearance is valid for how long it is valid, (which is one year) - this is a fact. i remember about K1 visa interviewees posting about their experience with USEM Abu Dhabi mentioning using their still-valid-but-more-than-6-months-old NBI clearance during their interviews with no issues. but i will need more time to dig those links up which i will not do (*peace*).

USEM Abu Dhabi's packet 3, does not mention anywhere about specific freshness of police certificate. therefore it makes sense to me to go by the validity date mention on the police certificate themselves. now if you can point me to the link that categorically says that the NBI has to be no older than 6 months at the time of the interview for somebody using it in the US Embassy Abu Dhabi, then i will stand corrected. I would honestly like to know the answer as well.

Here is the elephant in the room.  You say it says no where in the packet three that there is any validity statement from ABD P3 and I can say it's the same for Manila P3. Nothing is stated that the Clearance needs to be less then 6 months at time of interview. It's my opinion that a "recent crime or injunction" would show sooner then later.

My experience at Manila has been they have given 221(g)'s until such time as the OP can get their NBI updated so that it is less then 6 months old.  I can't comment on ABD and since you are only using "what you think" then I think I will bow out and let the OP make the decision.

All I am saying is that, what you are saying is applicable for Manila where the NBI may need to be 6 months old and you could be 100% right - i am not disputing this at all. My original point is that, this is not entirely true for Abu Dhabi (the context of which is what is applicable to OP's question / situation).  Saying a blanket statement as if what is true for Manila is also true everywhere is not right.

Anyway, you have stated your point and I have stated mine. OP can choose what she thinks is the best course of action for her.
