We don't need expedite for drug admittance we completed that time already. We had I 601A waiver and approved before he left but we did not know telling the truth about trying drugs once or twice was gonna overthrow that. It is up to the discretion  of the physician, we just did not want to lie, see what be honest gets you. We learned are lesson that is for sure. We have seen so many people go and come and most of them have lied. :( We started this process in 2014 with the I-130. We have gone above and beyond what they have asked for been to all appointment and paid all fees twice. I understand they speed up and slow down. What makes me even more upset is that i talked to consulate general and was told all we needed to do to overcome this was a new physical and interview. We did that and get hit with the 930.00 waiver, plus all the other fees and getting there and back. Also that they tell my husband that this is for a better future for you and your family. Me and my 4 year old and 11 year old are about to be living out of my car, cant wait till the public school get wind then CPS might get involved. I really don't see how this is better for anyone. I guess we wont be dong the expedite. I will be checking into quitting my job for welfare and assistance cause that's how they won't us to live anyway.

Drugs is a serious issue and it is not up to the Physician.

I do not know how things work in NC, pretty sure there is somebody on here who has commented in the past how the benefits system worked.

As I mentioned the I 601a only works if he has illegal presence, otherwise he is into the normal process.

She could afford rent if she sought out assistance.

My neighbor had a 601A waiver approved..went back to Costa Rica to get his visa and it was flat out DENIED. He thought he would be back in 2 weeks..he's been gone over a year now. His wife moved on ..sold his truck and is happier than ever. He has a kid here too..and no drug charges.. He was illegal here for 16 years. The government isn't playing anymore... DACA will soon be gone too.

My suggestion  is... Live your  life..take care of your child.  If the waiver is meant to be approved...it will be approved.

I waited a very long time through this immigration process. IT WAS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO BEING WORTH IT.

Presumably he had criminal issues.

If you don't qualify for food stamps then you're not that bad off.  They give them out like candy.. If you live in the U.S...there are programs you can apply for.

You have to live your life here and now. My husband meant everything to me too but guess what..?   Life still goes on.

Don't play the victim.  You're the mother to these kids. Stand strong and support them. What Will you do if the waiver is denied because of the New immigration policies?  Then what?  Het yourself square here and if he eventually joins you..Then that Will be nice... Trust me....I've lived this...nobody told me how stupid I was for waiting..it turned out horribly and my kids we're the ones watching...they saw me wait. FOR NOTHING ....4 years. Biggest regret of my life

Do what you want...but don't play the victim. The government is not responsible for who you married...it's not his right to be here..you have to follow the rules...

I will state this again he has over come this with a 1 year ban that he completed. It is up to the physician we have the records he passed drug test but when asked him a series of questions he admitted to smoking years ago a few time they classed him as a drug abuser not addict. Has nothing to do with NC, and also as i mentioned before I601a we had but had to do a new waiver since he is in Mexico now. Either you don't understand me or you are not reading what I am telling you.

Well I applied and was approved for 15.00 a month. I make 800.00 every 2 weeks and pay 600.00 monthly for daycare and 75 a week for after school care for another one. So say what you will. NC is broke and more so where i live most people are already on assistance and live below poverty. I know my situation and not looking for acceptance of that from anyone.

I 601A takes care of that, so why the denial?

You sound angry, I am sorry bad things happened or did not go your way. But I have faith things will get better. I am tired of people telling me and my small children to move on that we will never seen my husband or father again.

He was given a ban completed that and then told at second interview we needed a new waiver the I601 just like the A but because he was in Mexico now. I dont know, I just follow the rules. If you get a ban for anything other than a illegal stay more than a year, once you complete the ban you have to apply for that waiver again but this time a I601.

Why? On you for telling someone not to post something? Thats against the rule of the board you know. Just because they didn't post puppies and rainbows doesn't mean it can't be good or useful advice. Real world things happen good and bad experiences should be welcomed.

I am living just that, I don't need anyone telling me to leave my husband that I would be better off to give up and to take the food stamps that they are giving out like candy. I have class and respect and would never talk to another the way she has. I am not looking for puppies and rainbows. The questions i asked was clear and yet i get all these comments but no answer to my question of someone with the same experience.

Thank you, I come here for words of encouragement and love seeing all the happy endings. But instead I will go back work upset. Luckily I have a great job, helping bring healthy babies in to the world and that is something to smile about.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I did just want to give you some moral support for your dilemma.  I think you should do whatever you can to try to address your economic situation.  If you do end up deciding to stop work and use public benefits, don't be too hard on yourself about it, as your children deserve to be well taken care of, and no one will take better care of them than you.  And you would still be working, just not employed.

If Boiler thinks the expedite might be worthwhile, I would seriously evaluate his answer, as he is knowledgeable about immigration and tries to be helpful in a gruff and understated way.  Hopefully some more people familiar with waivers and expedites will chime in soon as well.

Some people on here have had personal disappointments with scammers (not to name names) so don't take it too much to heart their bitterness.  It doesn't mean that your husband is dishonest, or that it is not worth doing everything you can to try to address his immigration status.

I hope it all works out for you, both the financial situation and the immigration one.

Actually, your situation as described above shows that food stamps are not given out like candy... the working poor, especially one parent families, are often facing very difficult choices.

Thank you I will wait a few more days and pray about some more, I have other options but they are all requiring me to quit my jobs as my parents live in other states no where near me, staying with them should not be a problem, I will just have to figure away to keep car payment and insurance up till i found another job and the last thing i wanted to do was move my kids to make new friends after losing everything else. Thank for all the encouraging words and understanding.
