hello I sent my fiance her packet full of all the information for her interview this past Monday, I sent it priority 3-5 day shipping through USPS

The tracking site currently says this:

July 7, 2017, 9:54 am Departed CASABLANCA, MOROCCO

Your item departed a transfer airport in MOHAMED V, CASABLANCA, MOROCCO on July 7, 2017 at 9:54 am.

The item is currently in transit to the destination.

My fiance keeps hearing horror stories about a girl that had her package sent late June and it still has not arrived. Has anyone else experienced this? USPS says once the package leaves the US they are not responsible for it. I told her if its not there Monday to go to the main post office and request for it, hoping that works.

Have you sent her packages before through USPS? It looks like it does still say in transit, so it should be arriving this week I would assume. Having her go to the post office might help.

USPS uses third-party couriers in foreign countries. They may even use FedEx to deliver it to the final location, or they even might use the basic local mail service in Morocco.

I'm sure it will get where it's going.... but it takes time.

All mail has to pass through some kind of customs check, even in Morocco I'm sure. I've had USPS "priority" mailed to me in a foreign country and have it take over a week to get there.

Even the mail moves a little slower on weekends.

ours says held in customs :( I have no idea why it would be held. I put a 20$ bill in there for her so when she comes to the US she can get food and water at the airport...... and also a wedding card I hand made. I asked the woman at USPS if I should put that on the customs paperwork and she said no just put legal documents.....It also has all of our visa paperwork, if they don't give it to her we will be totally screwed.
