Hi All,

I've decided to join this forum for me to get some information about my K1-Visa. I'm so glad that most of you usually respond to each other's concerns. It has been 4 months but we haven't received our NOA2 yet. It's quite frustrating since we received our case March 7th, 2017. I've seen some who process theirs later than mine got their NOA2 already. My fiance tried to call the but he can't get into a real person.

Hoping someone out there who has the same received date is still waiting for their NOA2 also, :(

Congrats to those who have their NOA2 already.

Keep faith to those who are waiting just like me.

A longer wait doesn't mean a RFE, people seem to think that. Your case has either been touched or it hasn't. (a few exceptions exist, like having to do a more extensive background check)

You are within normal processing times, so try to be patient and good luck!

I don't have any inside knowledge, but I believe most RFEs happen fairly early in the submission as I believe the package is reviewed early to make sure it is complete.  What usually causes the delay closer to the NOA2 is the time it takes to conduct the background check on the applicant, or it could be that the USCIS clerk handling your package is on vacation, or something else equally esoteric.

In our case we got an RFE 6 months after filing. A month after sending the required information for the RFE, we got the K1 approved

Hi.. if u don't mind.. what are the usual RFE's? Thanks..

In our case, they just asked for the name of the website where my fiance and I met. I am not sure of other cases but I think they will ask for anything you might have missed to include in the application.

Ok.. did u add information for the terms and condition of the website where u met.. to prove that it's not an IMBRA? Thanks :)

No, we did not. We just gave them the name of the website and the date of when we met each other there. Maybe they will check the website on their own.

That's not completely correct. The RFE happens at the same timeframe as the NOA2 or denial. It's just a matter of someone picking up your case to review it, then they make a decision - RFE, NOA2 or NOID. So when you haven't heard anything about your i-129f, it only means that no one has picked up your case yet. Once they do you can receive either of the 3 mentioned, even if it takes 30 days or 6 months.

With the AOS later on however, it often works the way you described it, where RFEs are sent out early and then you stI'll might have to wait for months to hear something back.

You're probably right.  I know back when I did my K1 application I received an RFE about 3 weeks after submission for a missing item, then it took another four months before the NOA2.  This is why I implied that someone must have reviewed the package for completeness prior to actually working it.  I do agree, RFEs can come later in the process as well.

Hi,

I've been there and done that. Some people takes a year before they received their NOA2. It takes time sometimes. If something is wrong they will send you or your fiance a notification or mail about what is going on. waiting for 4 months is usual. Some applicant receives theirs early. Also I remembered that depends on which month you applied. That varies the load or documantes they need to review. Hope it helps. Good luck! Breathe and Wait. :)
