Hi All,

I've decided to join this forum for me to get some information about my K1-Visa. I'm so glad that most of you usually respond to each other's concerns. It has been 4 months but we haven't received our NOA2 yet. It's quite frustrating since we received our case March 7th, 2017. I've seen some who process theirs later than mine got their NOA2 already. My fiance tried to call the but he can't get into a real person.

Hoping someone out there who has the same received date is still waiting for their NOA2 also, :(

Congrats to those who have their NOA2 already.

Keep faith to those who are waiting just like me.

I would expect you should hear something soon.  It seems you are still within the normal processing times, and I know it is difficult to see some with NOA1 dates after yours already with a NOA2, but that could be just whose desk your application ends up on.

Keep the faith and Good Luck!

I don't have any inside knowledge, but I believe most RFEs happen fairly early in the submission as I believe the package is reviewed early to make sure it is complete.  What usually causes the delay closer to the NOA2 is the time it takes to conduct the background check on the applicant, or it could be that the USCIS clerk handling your package is on vacation, or something else equally esoteric.

Oh I see, how do they normally do the background check? Will it be a problem if my fiance travels a lot from a different state in the US for work? I'm sorry I have no idea about this thing.  Thanks though!

At this point, the background check is on the USC/LPR as the applicant of the I129F.  The background check of the foreign fiancé comes later after transfer to the consulate.

Oh I see, now I understand. Thanks for your response. I will just continue to wait. Guess it's true, that true love waits. :) Thanks again!

That's not completely correct. The RFE happens at the same timeframe as the NOA2 or denial. It's just a matter of someone picking up your case to review it, then they make a decision - RFE, NOA2 or NOID. So when you haven't heard anything about your i-129f, it only means that no one has picked up your case yet. Once they do you can receive either of the 3 mentioned, even if it takes 30 days or 6 months.

With the AOS later on however, it often works the way you described it, where RFEs are sent out early and then you stI'll might have to wait for months to hear something back.

I see, so I just assume, no one has picked up our case yet (hopefully not for RFE) since it has been 125 days that we are still waiting for our NOA2. NOA1 was received March 7th 2017, now it's so frustrating.

But thank you guys for all your responses. I really appreciate it.

Yes, no one has looked at your case yet, as soon as they do they will send you a RFE, NOA2 or NOID. Let's cross our fingers for a NOA2.

BTW, is it possible that it'll take 5 months for us to receive our NOA2? :(

Yes, absolutely. Some people wait way longer than that. We waited for 6 months last year, which really isn't that bad considering others wait way longer. The average is much less than that though, so no need to worry yet.

After 5 months you can at least start asking about your case, send service requests and even get help from your congressman or senator.
