Well they schedule the home visit right? And that's for very suspicious cases? Ours is not suspicious.

If they schedule a home visit then we will tell our parents. However, we live with her dad who works from the early morning and comes home in the evening. He'll wouldn't be around if USCIS came in the morning.

We can't do anything about not sleeping in the same bed. When we go on vacations together we sleep in the same bed, or sometimes (once every couple weeks) we just feel like sleeping in the same bed and we'll do it.

They don't schedule. They just show up.

Lmao u won't get a home visit and u would know...eithrr the interview is 10min or u get separated and it's 3hrs...very few Canadian or UK cases get separated. Just relax. If u get separated then maybe a home visit but I wouldn't worry about that yet.

Yeah, I was going to say there's nothing about my application that warrants a home visit. My lawyers said my application looks great and we have a ton of Tax documents and photos. They wouldnt know that our parents don't know about the marriage until the interview anyway!

I'll start job hunting for a minimum wage job once my EAD gets shipped out.

You are in your second year of studies. That is what you had said. You are not a doctor yet. You have like 4 years to go, plus residency.

I am going to be opening a joint bank account, but with separate checking accounts.

That means absolutely nothing!!!  They want to see co-mingled finances, not that you use the same bank!

and another thing......by getting married, your wife is probably NO LONGER covered by her father's healthcare policy.....

My packet was checked by a lawyer and he said everything was absolutely fine.

If your lawyer told you that having separate checking accounts is "absolutely fine", then you might want to seek another attorney.

He didn't say that. He said he'd advise we get a joint bank account.

I just don't want to co-mingle all of our finances. My wife spends a lot of money, if we have a lot of money in a shared checking she will spend it very quickly :D

My dad is a very successful man, he lives in CA and makes a lot of money. My mum and dad do not share ALL their finances but they have a joint account.

That's a whole different matter..lol.....

Seriously, I would think about her health care plan.  There is a real possibility that her marriage will disqualify her from getting care under her Father's policy.

So in order to prove you have a legit marriage you are sending photos of you guys with people who dont know you are married.... Facepalm.

I dont know why your attny said you have a "strong packet". You have no joint bills, no sole residence, no letters from family. What makes your packet strong exactly?

As for why people are stating you would not be a good doctor- well, if its not obvious Doctors are suppose to abide by a code of ethics. Disrespecting her parents by misleading them about what immigration papers you are having them sign, plus being married to their daughter with out their knowledge so you can continue to live with them means you have poor moral character.

This is different and is mainly the wish of my wife. She doesn't want these people to know. If she wanted her parents to know then I would tell them.

A doctors code of ethics is completely different, and judging me as a possible future doctor is completely irrelevant to this topic.

Thank you. I went on vacations with her family and they knew we're together, they know we're probably going to get married eventually. Why wouldn't we be allowed on vacations with her family if they don't know we're married?!

Jheeze some of the replies on here are nuts, they're treating me as if I'm some sort of mass murdering criminal!

Not sure why ppl think a joint bank account is important? My parents were married 35 years and never had a joint bank account and i don't see the need to either!!!!!
