We have photos with the family, vacation receipts, receipts of gifts i bought for her, receipt and picture of the flowers i got her for valentines day, receipts for the birthday and valentines day card I got her.

I am going to get a large cake for our 1 year anniversary together as a couple, which will be in late july. I will put a picture of us on the cake and take a picture of it for USCIS. I'm going to apply for a state drivers licence when i get my SSN and register it to her moms address like hers. Other than that, I dont know what other evidence I could provide.

Photos and gifts are very weak evidence.

To get a drivers license you will need a utility bill or something with the address, to prove you actually live there. You have nothing of that.

You told her mother about form I-130 and said it is about so you can stay here, but she was not told she signed her affidavit of support
for her married daughter's husband.

To me it would be a betrayal to mention part but not the whole story that the I-130 is a petition for a married couple.
The parents are not familiar with immigration various paths and forms so it does not surprise me one bit that they simply trust you and sign whatever
you want them to. It is very disrespectful for you both to keep this secret while living under their roof. Instead of your wife being a spender
with clothes etc, she needs to save so you can get out of their house and live your lives however you please.
This isn't about respecting your wife's feelings, it is about respecting those who give you both a roof over your heads.
It sounds like what is to gain from living with them (saving for a mortgage)  is more important than showing them some respect and being honest.
The whole thing is just not straightforward and immature.

First off, thank you so much for helpful reply, instead of personally attacking and insulting me like many other members. My main question is with point 6.

2. Yes it's biomedical science, but this is very different to biomedical engineering that was listed. Biomedical science is very similar to medicine.

3. Okay thanks, I noticed your home visit was a long time after your initial application. I want to tell her parents within the next 4 months - after I get my EAD with a part time job.

4. Her fathers health insurance is all paid for by his work. Would they be able to see that she's married and notify him?

5. I will tell my parents closer to the interview so that if an officer asks me if our parents know during the interview, I can answer yes.

6. The joint account part is very difficult. Is there a place me and my wife can have some separate finances? We already have our own bank account. If we open a joint account can keep some finances in our personal bank accounts? Or we could open a joint bank account and have 3 checking  accounts within it. 1 for me(purchasing things from amazon and other things I want), 1 for her (her insurance payments, car lease payments, her clothes/other items she buys), 1 we share (for groceries, gas, eating out together, vacations)

and then 1 savings account (we will put 30% of our earnings each month into this account to save up for a house)

Would this be ok?

7. We sleep in different beds because when I first came to visit her, obviously we didnt want to sleep in the same bed from day 1 since we just met in person. However, we really started liking it and we enjoy sleeping in separate beds! I know this sounds incredibly immature, but she has a ton of stuffed animals on her bed and there isn't enough space for me on it anyway. She loves her stuffed animals and they're kind of like a coping mechanism for her when she's stressed. She treats them like her children. I know that sounds weird, but I'm trying to be 100% truthful!

I have to be somewhere will be back later to finish responding. Yes #6 like you listed is fine. One for you, one for her, one where you
pool income and expenses. Explain at the interview if questioned and that is structured in a way they will accept.

Who is 21, lives with parents, is supported by parents, buys tons of clothes and things, has a car, and is stressed???

If she really has a problem, she should seek help. It sounds like you are taking advantage of her. You are older than her and you are making her lie to her parents, under their own roof, because you want a green card.

This is incredibly immature.

I am not here to attack you.  You have the right to do whatever you want to do.  I do think you need more evidence but others have given you information about this.  But just something to think about.  I know you told your mother in law she was signing affidavit of support but you didn't tell her it was for a spouse visa.  Don't you think that is going to come back to haunt you?  Don't you think she is going to be highly upset?  I would be.  If someone asks another person to take on that kind of responsibility they should be told exactly what they are signing.  This is just my opinion.  But do you want to get off on the wrong foot with your inlaws?

Yeah you're right. She hasn't signed anything yet so I'll tell her exactly what she's signing before hand. She has the right to know and she's much closer with me than my wifes dad.

Good luck to you.  I hope it all works out.  Do work on getting together some good evidence.  I don't personally know what is required since we filed I130 while my husband was in his country and he got a 10 year green card so we didn't have to ROC.  But it sounds like several others have given you good advice on what constitutes good evidence.

Thanks, theres not that much more evidence I can get other than

1. joint bank account:

   - 1 checking for both of us

  - 1 checking for me

  - 1 checking for her

  - 1 savings for us

2. affidavit of support letter from our friends

3. Drivers licence at the same address once I get SSN

4. Joint credit card.

Was a stressful journey full of ups and downs, cya in 2020 VJ. I'll be back when it's time to begin the dreaded I-751. Biggest advice - make sure you have a TON of evidence, be completely honest and you'll be fine. Good luck everyone! =)

Where do you have your insurance at?

You need letters from her mom that you guys are living there.

I understand you think the replies here are harsh. Maybe they are but its nothing compared to the grilling you can potentially get from the immigration officer.

You can not wait to let the insurance company know. If she uses the insurance- which she probably wont be eligible for once she tells them she is married- (most policies dont allow for adult married children on them)- she will be committing insurance fraud.

Getting married changes your legal status. It impacts tons of things from insurance (health and vehicle) to medical issues to tax issues.  These are issues both you and her parents have to deal with. You need to explain to your wife that it is important to tell her parents. I understand she doesnt want to. Its a bad idea not to. And believe me, Im not the only one who can say my spouse has had some bad ideas that Ive had to "veto". Its part of life.

As a side note I am a parent of a child the same age as you guys. I would be furious if I found out that the "boyfriend" whom I have been let live with us was really the husband. When you find yourself in a hole- stop digging. You didnt just wake up and go to the courthouse and get married in one hour did you? You had to get a license and come back most likely. Her parents are going to feel betrayed and rightly so. Its too late now to undo it, but you have to stop digging your hole and come clean. If you cant reason with your wife then maybe shes not mature enough to be married?

Finally you cant just have joint accounts. Anyone can open an account. Simply having it doesnt mean squat. You have to actually use the account. Are you planning on using it? If not then theres no point in having them.

You are going down a slippery slope here by not telling her parents who you live with. Good moral character is needed for immigration. Now Im not saying lying to her parents disqualifies you but it doesnt help. You are currently lying to get a benefit. (living with her parents).

Why is there a problem with Insurance, Marriage would not normally be a factor.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
