Finally received my EAD card this morning. I submitted an expedite request about 3 weeks ago and after countless tier 2 phone calls, congressman inquiry I received my card this morning.I received my approval notices yesterday for both EAD and AP. Btw, no updates to my cases, they are all still saying case received and fingerprint fee received. I immediately went to my DMV because my license expired last month. I was in and out of DMV in about 40 mins with new DL. Yayyy!

I begin working again on Monday, I am so relieved. Priority date is July 28th. I am just so happy I can go back to living a regular life working again and driving my car that was parked in the garage for over a month.

I am now patiently waiting on interview date.

Good luck guys!

Your ead came in a priority mail envelope/box with tracking correct? Did they approve notice come in regular post?

Yes, priority mail with tracking. I was able to track it since yesterday with informed delivery.

Approval notice regular mail. It was mailed on the 4th I believe.

Awesome, yeah it popped up in my informed delivery as well, just wanted to make sure it wasn’t just the approval notice.

Congrats and since your filing date for EAD and AP is about 15-20 days difference even that should be approved soon :)

short answer I believe is no. Unless you have documentation showing your legal name with your fathers surname.

sadly no. but you can do legal name change. But I suggest doing it after you become naturalized. I'm also from Philippines but when I got married, Canada didn't allow me to change my middle name unless i do legal name change. Sadly it reflects my Canadian Passport and all other documents as well... Its a Filipino tradition that we carry our surname as middle names when we get married, but it doesn't work that way here
