Ahh I'm sorry to hear but yes fingers crossed for EAD / AP renewals. Hopefully your letter comes any day now. I am hearing of many 2018 filers getting interviews, I feel your frustration :(I also am curious about why SFV is so backed up when many Los Angeles (DTLA) applicants are getting interviews within a year, and according to the published data, SFV has less pending cases than LA, I think? They are outsourcing some LA interviews to San Bernardino - I really wish they'd do that for us. I am thinking of making an InfoPass to ask them why it's taking so long and to even ask about transferring to San Bernardino but I feel like I'll just get a canned answer and be told to sign up for online updates haha.

I know right?! When we found out our office was going to be SFV my husband thought it would be great since the LA one would be too busy, but at this time I think it's either too backed up or it doesnt have a lot of people working, which makes the cases go super slow. It is also fairly new, i think, compared to the others, so maybe they are still trying to figure out how to process petitions more effectively? I don't know...

I thought about Infopass as well, but I also heard of people saying that if you are not outside of the processing times, which for us it's like in a year or so hahaha, we would just receive the standard message, but I won't discourage trying.

Did you talk to Tier 2 officers when you call them? When I'm able to speak to them, I usually get the standard message that all I can do now is wait, but i've seen here people being able to get more info on their cases.

At this time, the good thing in all of this is that, if it takes too long, by the time we get the interview we'd already be married for 2 years so we won't have to go through this again hahaha

I've never talked to a Tier 2 officer - when I called recently to ask why the automated phone status update couldn't tell me a status (even though online has updated - and I think it's just the system being glitchy, I was really just trying to find out any additional info on my case) the first level officer just kept excitedly repeating that I was now in line for an interview and when I said I already had an online account, he was like ok great bye and hung up haha. Oi vey. San Fernando opened in 2012 so it's newish but I definitely think six years is old enough to have processes in place. It says they had 100 staff on opening - I don't know if that's less than most offices? They may have more now but I think you're right about them not having a lot of staff. (https://patch.com/california/northridge/one-stop-immigration-center-opens-in-chatsworth)

I know a girl who's currently waited over two years for ROC at SFV and ended up having her case transferred to another state to be processed so it may be ROC and naturalization cases clogging their office - there's a LOT of immigrants in the valley so that's all I can come up with.

I am telling myself the same about the 10 year gc! Not much of a consolation but I guess we'd save a few hundred for all the months (years) of time we spent waiting 🤨

Anyway, crossing my fingers for you! I know you must be even more frustrated. Hoping they get things moving really soon :) :)

Hi izavox

I'm also a July AoS applicant and my status has changed to ready to be scheduled for interview since 2 months ago (my case has transferred to Los Angeles local office). No interview yet. Have you tried to contact ombudsman? Any response? ... Thanks

Got the notification today for the interview! Super happy! I don't know the date yet, it said it is coming in the mail but my take is that within 30 days, right?? :)

So excited, hopefully it will be a breeze!

@KathCali Did you hear anything back? I think SFV is processing around 11 months or so (that is almost exactly what it took for me, since my PD was July 11, 2017)

Ahhh so excited and happy for you! Congrats!! Your notice will arrive within a week or so and your interview will be about a month after that! 🎉

I haven’t heard anything since “ready to schedule” on July 17, but we filed Sep 15 so you have given me hope (I was getting sooo frustrated!) I think based on yours we should get scheduled in the next couple of months then 😊

Woohoo!! San Fernando is moving! Keep us posted! So happy for you 😊🙏🏻
