I would just renew it, it's free if you throw in a copy of the I-485 receipt page, and they'll give you a notice extending it a further 180 days most likely as well. And if you do get interviewed in the mean time it should be cancelled upon I-485 approval and you'll get a green card instead.

seems like this process is taking freaking long. But i have a friend who also filed at the same office in August, he already went to his interview last month and got his card issued. i don't know what's going on.

I know right? I know people from August who already had their interviews and have their GC's in hand. I have no idea when to expect this interview, specially with the way USCIS updated their 'Processing Times' on their website. My office is San Fernando Valley and even here on VJ I can't find information on it haha... just hope I don't have to go through the process of renewing my I-765.

Well I sent it the renewal applications for I-765 and I-131. I received the notice of action today. We'll see what happens.

Hi Izavox! I am also a SFV filer (Sep 2017) and have also been searching for other filers at that field office to get an idea of their actual processing times. My lawyers response to how long that office is taking is that it could take up to 24 months and they expect it to be by September 2019, which I already know from the USCIS website 🙄. Please keep us posted on when you receive your interview and how long from PD to interview date! Thank you so much!

Oh my god so cool to see someone else from SFV!! Yeah, so far the expectations of when to get the interview cannot be clear from the USCIS website. =(  I'm hoping we can get it before 24 months, otherwise this is just insane. That office cannot be that busy (I hope not).

My online status has been stuck on “fingerprint fee received” since I filed. Has your status changed from that?

24 months is insane. I do know a girl filing for ROC who’s been waiting 22 months however so it’s possible unfortunately. Someone else on here posted their PD was May 2017 and their interview June 2018 for SFV though so I’m hoping that’s a precedent for our cases too! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

So the notice provides a 180 day extension. That's good. They even sent another notice stating they'll be able to reuse the biometrics we provided the first time.

I have questions though since I never went through i-765 and i-131 renewal. Will those biometrics be reused for the GC as well? And I know I'm waiting for the interview and ultimately the GC, but if it so happens that they produce the card, will it be a combo card? There was no automatic extension for the i-131 so does that mean we are limited to the expiration date of the current EAD now until we either get the renewal EAD or GC?

Mine has been 'Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview' since August of last year :(

Calling USCIS is no help at all. I talk to Tier 2 officers and all they say is that my case is under the normal time and I should expect my interview by April of next year - at the least.

At this time, the only silverlining in all of this is that, by the time I get the interview, I'll probably have been married for 2 years so I will get the permanent card. But the wait is a , for sure.

My worry is the I-131 and I-765. I sent in my renewals and I'm already working. I'm hoping it won't take too long to get them at this time. This is getting ridiculous... I've no idea why for some people it takes so long.

April?? If it's that long, I sure hope it's after our two year anniversary (June 4, 2019) too! I also renewed my I-765 (never did AP on advice of my lawyer in the current political climate) and got the receipt notice which automatically extends your EAD 180 days. Did you get that? It doesn't extend AP unfortunately but at least we are able to continue working. It sounds like many in LA county are getting quicker interviews, and several in SFV are getting them around the 12 month mark so fingers crossed for us! :)

I haven't gotten the receipt notice of my EAD extension yet  (only did it for my AP, because, long story short, they were issued separately when I first applied for them, so I sent my renewal for that before), but that is great that it is automatically extended! :D  Do you know if I can also use it to extend my Driver's License or do I have to wait for the card?

I'm reaching my 12 month mark, so I do hope I get a surprise in the mail about the interview, but every time I call USCIS, my hopes just die down a little hahaha... as of now I'm just hoping to get the EAD and AP in time so I can travel again at the end of the year and get my DL renewed to keep driving.  :)

I'm not sure about the driver's license thing. I know they refused to renew mine after my O1 expired until I had my EAD card. I suspect they will refuse without the EAD card but hopefully that will arrive in time and not create any issues!

Hoping we get interview notices any day now!

Ahh I'm sorry to hear but yes fingers crossed for EAD / AP renewals. Hopefully your letter comes any day now. I am hearing of many 2018 filers getting interviews, I feel your frustration :(I also am curious about why SFV is so backed up when many Los Angeles (DTLA) applicants are getting interviews within a year, and according to the published data, SFV has less pending cases than LA, I think? They are outsourcing some LA interviews to San Bernardino - I really wish they'd do that for us. I am thinking of making an InfoPass to ask them why it's taking so long and to even ask about transferring to San Bernardino but I feel like I'll just get a canned answer and be told to sign up for online updates haha.
