Which documents should we get out of the way so we don't have to mail stuff back and forth to each other during the next year?  Should we even start doing stuff this early? (The plan is to have the visa completed in exactly 1 year from now).
Any good tips on Proof of Relationship stuff we can gather/create while we are together? (Besides the usual photos/videos/plane tickets/ etc).  Thank you!

Definitely letters of intent. Have those signed. One from each party.

G-325A forms used to be required, so those needed signatures; but the word is that they are not needed anymore.

Get the passport photos to be included with the petition as well.

Copies of name change and divorce documents (if any) for the beneficiary; you will need to translate those (if not already in English) and include with the petition.

If you can take a trip to a third country together and get matching border stamps in your passports, that looks like good proof.

Keep in mind that certain things are time sensitive, so the closer to the application date, the better.

Passport photos are only valid for 30 days from submission date.

    - However, a huge tip I learned the hard way (having to take pictures more than once for dragging my feet), was that the date on the back of the visa photo is NOT REQUIRED. Send in the photos without the date on the back, but print the name of the person in the photo and you'll never run into the problem of the date. This is what I did the second time around and it was smooth sailing.

The evidence at this point ONLY NEEDS TO PROVE you've seen each other within 2 years. They seriously don't care about anything else. Photos of you two smooching will be ignored unless they come with proof of when / where you were.

Always always always write this info on the back of those photos.

Then the key is to show you traveled there at that time. Passport stamps are the big one, and I-94 record is just as big. You can print out those at any time and shoot them to your fiance in an email.

But again, unless your photo is going to be of you both holding up the daily newspaper, they won't be good enough on their own.

Videos are never accepted. Video links are never accepted.

Boarding passes are accepted - plane tickets are not. (Plane tickets can be purchased and never traveled)

You might also consider doing other little things such as going to a restaurant, and if it shows the location and date on the receipt - you're golden. Show a picture of you both eating at that restaurant and you're getting the right idea ;)

Just to confirm one thing, with the new I-129F, you NO longer need to submit G-325A.

Date sensitive documents during the K-1 interview at the embassy would include  I-134, confirmation of employment from employer, bank letter, letter of intent and police certificate.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.
