Polish president calls 'FAKE NEWS' on reports his wife snubbed Trump

But Polish President Andrzej Duda took to Twitter to call the reports “FAKE NEWS.”

“Contrary to some surprising reports my wife did shake hands with Mrs. and Mr. Trump @POTUS after a great visit. Let's FIGHT FAKE NEWS,” he tweeted -- a message that surely will delight the U.S. president who has focused intensely on battling media outlets he deems unfair and often uses the ‘fake news’ label.

The clip in question clearly shows Trump extending a hand to Polish first lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda, who instead shakes hands with Melania Trump. However, the full video shows she shook the U.S. president’s hand immediately afterward.

The Internet couldn’t help itself, however.

Even if they did shake hands in the end it is still always awkward when you put out your hand to shake someone and they don't. I know I always feel awkward when that happens. What do you do afters? Do you acknowledge it or pretend that it didn't happen? Do you whip your hand back through your hand as if you were never intending to shake? Such a dilemma.

 

At least they didn't get into one of those messy "Do we hug or do we shake?" moments.

I'm just messing with you  Honestly though I really do hate it when those awkward social encounters happen. I hate meeting someone my wife knows really well because then i'm even more confused. She hugs but I shake? Or do I hug? But I just met the person. So complicated.

 

I agree that this is a perfect example of a "non-story" blowing up online and in news. Whoever first disseminated that clip clearly knew that she shook his hand after, so they were intentionally trying to make it a bigger deal. Other than that one dude from CNN what other media outlets ran with it? Twitter is a very low bar for news in my opinion.

MY money is on CNN to find the person who edited the video and threaten to name and shame them if they ever do anything like that again.

Unfortunately our dear President must be rubbing off on them. I guess when the country is lead by a child slowly other people/groups start mimicking that behavior perhaps.
