My petition was just approved by USCIS and now I am looking at some paperwork in preparation for the NVC stage.

One of the forms that I have looked at is the I-864EZ which is the short version of the Affidavit of Support.

Must I leave parts that are not applicable to me blank or must I place N/A in every portion of the form?

For example Page 2, Part 3 (Mailing address same as physical address), I checked Yes and that would mean that I could leave parts 4a-4h blank. However, I have read that

Also, can I leave Parts 7 and 8 blank since I am not using an interpreter or preparer?

It seems to me that placing NA or N/A on every line would look very messy and potentially confusing to someone reviewing the application. Common sense would dictate that leaving certain parts blank, unless noted, would be the way to go. But I don't know how the reviewer would react to leaving something blank that is not applicable or seeing a bunch of NAs on every line. It would be frustrating to be check listed and have to wait at least another 11 weeks!

I have called NVC and received different answers. Those of you who used the I-864EZ form or even the I-864 and have been approved, what did you do the parts that were not applicable.

Thank you.

Once you've provided an answer that renders a section of the form, not applicable, you may leave the rest of that section blank.  In the newer versions of the forms, you can't enter a second address if you've checked the box indicating the two addresses are the same.
