So I'm a current military member, filing N-400 under INA 329 eligibility.

On the USCIS website it says that INA329 N-400 filings should be sent to the regular lockbox listed above (TX for me), but right after that it also says that if I'm a current military member (which I am), that I should send in the N-400 to Chicago lockbox with "ATTN: Military N-400".

I sent my packet to Chicago lockbox, should I have sent it to the TX USCIS? I know USCIS forwards N-400s that are filed to wrong office but how can I tell if I made a mistake? Will I get a letter saying my packet was forwarded?

Thanks all

hi

if it's not the correct address you'll get it back, they don't forward packages, they return them with a letter stating that it isn't the correct address

Really? But it says on the USCIS website that: "If you sent your application to the wrong filing location, we will forward your application to the correct Lockbox facility. If the application is not processed by a Lockbox facility, it is returned to the customer."

Pretty sure military N-400s are processed at lockboxes, so if it's sent to a wrong lockbox, shouldn't it be automatically forwarded to the right lockbox instead of sent back?

You already gotten an answer...Lockboxes process differently.
I have experienced 2 cases:

(1) Myself: I sent a correct check but Lockbox rejects me for 3 times just a same reason. Later they accepted it, same package!

(2) My friend: USCIS changes their lockboxes location for states. My friend sent the packages to Arizona LB (old information) but based on the new location, he should have sent to Chicago LB. However, Arizona Lockbox still accepts his application after 2-time submission.

Fun fact, USCIS literally just updated their military N-400 submission instructions earlier today.

I was correct to be confused. They removed the part about INA eligibility submissions and clarified it on their website
