Hi

I got my case number now and I created and account on the USCIS site. Now my question: I have read that people have been "touched",I heard that is when your papers where looked at by somebody and the date changed or something like that.

How do I know I got touched? Will they send me an Email letting me know or what,or do I see that on the USCIS site when I log in?!?!?!?!?

Thanks for the help!!!!

You can create an account on the USCIS site. When the date changes there, that's when people post that they've been 'touched." For instance, if you logged in April 6, 7,8, etc. and you saw March 6th every day you logged in as the last date on there, nothing would have been happening (OR they just didn't update it...which happens a lot, I would think) Then if you logged in April 9 and it said April 8...you know you've been "touched."

Some people think it means a pending approval...and sometimes it does...but just a word of warning..sometimes it means very little as well. Someone could have glanced at your file for something and created a 'touch'...don't read too much into them.

Good luck with your journey! :) M.

Edited to add: upon rereading, I see you *did* create an account...you just watch the dates there then.

My experience has been that if you call the USCIS and talk to an operator directly requesting information about your case then you "might" get a touch as well; I did when asking my receipt number 1 time, and again when I called requesting that they resend NOA-1 hardcopy because I never received it by mail (the Cust. Serv. Rep. said that if they resent the NOA-1 that it would slow down the process, so I told him to forget about it .. but I still got a touch)
