I am in Shanghai China as is my fiancee.  I am filing form I-129F for the first time.   The fee is $535 but it says I need to pay with a money order in US dollars drawable on a US bank.  My bank ICBC stated they can print up a money order but dont know if it can be drawable on a USA bank.  Question:  Can I pay by credit card (visa) and how do I do this so the payment ties to my i-129f filing mail in package?  Also. if I can find a money order drawable on a US bank, do I attach my money order with my mail i to my filing 1-129F package?

Unfortunately you cannot pay with your credit card. Either by check or money order drawn from a US based bank or money order service provider such as USPS. Your check and money order should be attached to the G-1145 and placed right at the top of your petition stack when mailing.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

Doesn't the Embassy require you to print off a advice slip containing CGI Reference Number take it to a designated bank (CITIC Bank?) and not mail it in? Seems different then most Embassy requirements from others.

One action that some folks have done in the past is to send the entire completed  I-129F packet to a family member or friend in the US. Have them attached a check for the required amount, and then mail off the whole enchilada to the USCIS lock-box facility. The two parties then settle up as necessary.

Just a thought.

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)
