You need to prepare:

  • I-134 + supporting evidence
  • Newly dated and signed letter of intent

If you are going to Mexico to see your fiance(e), you can bring those stuff to him/her for his/her interview.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

Oh btw, forgot to mention this, provide a copy of the NOA2 to the beneficiary too in case the embassy asks for it.

And no the petitioner doesn't mail anything to the government. As for the beneficiary, depending on which his/her embassy she's interviewing at, he/she might be required to e-mail the embassy the DS-160 and interview confirmation pages.

Thank you so much! My plan was to file everything I need to and collect everything I need here in the states and then go to Mexico to help my fiancé do all his filing on the beneficiary end. I wasn't sure what else I was going to need to mail in from here on out

If you want to assist your fiance, you might want to review this information: https://mx.usembassy.gov/visas/instructions-for-k-1k-2-visa-applicants/

He can probably start gathering whatever that's necessary and not date sensitive first.

Do the dates on the financial statements, letter from employer etc need to be close to the interview date ? 🤔 Like if I get that stuff now it could be two months old by the time it is presented at the interview... will that be an issue ?

Thank u so much for your help!

It's better to get employment and bank letters closer to the interview date so they are more current  :) You can get them and send them to your fiance a month in advance. However, do check with your HR and banks if they would be able to provide the letters to you within a week or two. If they tend to take longer, maybe better to get them earlier.

You're awesome I can't thank you enough! I plan to go to Juarez with my fiancé to his interview so maybe I will just collect them after we have an interview date scheduled. If my bank and employer are able to supply me with the documents promptly that is 😉 Thank u so much!

You are most welcome :) Happy to share what I can or redirect you to some official instructions pages. All the best and it's great that you can be with him at the interview. According to his embassy page's, US petitioner attending the interview together is highly recommended :)

I have to mail it before I'm allowed to schedule anything instead of taking it to the interview, but it's for the Embassy anyway, yep.

Though you are one of the lucky ones that doesn't have to mail them anything, so never mind :P Just tend to clarify that because for countries like mine where you have to send documents ahead, that means you need them ready at least a month earlier than other people.
