Hello

 

I'm from the US and my fiance is from Nigeria. The National Visa Center is not giving me clear information.

 

I want to know when our petition is sent to electronically to embassy. How will I be notified. One rep said by email and another said the Embassy will notify us. But could not give clear information... If it would be by email, letter, etc... Does anyone know.

NVC forwards the hardcopy of your case file to the embassy.

 

NVC will send the US petitioner a letter to notify him/her of the case file transfer. In some cases, some petitioners have said that they never received such letter.

 

Obtain your case number and IIN from NVC before or when the file is in transit to the local embassy. That way once the case tracker says 'Ready', you'd know that your case file has arrived at the local embassy. The beneficiary can always contact the embassy to confirm their receipt of the case file. I'm suggesting this because sometimes case files get misrouted to the wrong embassy.

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.
