hello my fiance told me that the casa embassy is going to ask her for access to all of her social media and personal accounts such as (facebook, whatsapp, skype, emails, last few years of phone numbers).
Does anyone know if this is true? My fiance worries a lot, and some people that try to help her give false information.

My fiance is in Casablanca. At his K1 interview in February, he did not get asked for these things. However, I speak to others who have gone through CR1 and K1s and some have gotten asked for all this information for the past 5 years. Others have not gotten asked for this information. The ones who have gotten asked for this information are given a sheet to fill out and email or scan in and email back with all of their information including all the information you mentioned. I am not sure how they are deciding who to request this information from or not.

My fiance belongs to a K1 via group on Facebook where they talk (in Darija) about this and other issues regarding the K1/CR1 visas through Morocco if you want a link send me an email and I will send you a link.

will she have to give them her passwords for her social media accounts? like are they going to look at every message she has sent?

Social media platforms and identifiers, also known as handles, used during the last five years

I get from this that they just want the account name like her name on Facebook etc. I read somewhere that they look at the accounts from an outside perspective, not by logging into your account.

No, they will not ask her for her passwords and login information. They could only ask her to fill in a form called Supplemental Questions for Visa Applicants. It's about her emails, social media usernames or web handles and other things from the past 5 to 15 years...

I noticed that they give this mainly to beneficiaries who have been abroad at least once (for studies, business, leisure or any other reason).

For more info on what's on that form, please refer to the link provided above by EandH0904.

Good luck!

Just found this and thought your fiancée might wanna read it:

Quote

Consular officers will not request user passwords and will not attempt to subvert any privacy controls the applicants may have implemented on social media platforms. Consular officers are directed not to engage or interact with individuals on or through social media; not to violate or attempt to violate individual privacy settings; and not to use social media or assess an individual's social media presence beyond established Department guidance.

I've attached the form here so anyone can view it. My fiance is also in the darija group that EandH0904 is referencing. It seems no one is certain about if the form is required or not, but it shouldn't hurt to fill out out ahead of time and bring it to her interview if you can. My fiance's interview is next Monday and I'll report back if they asked for it or not. Like SaRy said, it seems they ask for it on a case by case basis.

I'm not surprised, I wonder when they were going to do this, considering that couple in California from couple of years ago.  They were killed in shot out with police in San Bernardino, Ca  they killed 14 people. She came in the USA on a K1 visa, and turned out she had stuff all over her Facebook account of Anti America stuff, and etc.  They couple had ties to Pakistan also.

If they would of seen her Facebook account at time of interview, she would not of received a K1 Visa.

DOS send out a memorandum that all CO's have to ask the additional specific job/address/social media questions during interviews.
While some do it and others do not depends on each individual's travel to certain countries and their nationalities.
They will usually not ask for usernames and passwords but I have read some posts here where the CO did. Rare but it happened.
They are not supposed to do so without going through the right channels to get the ok and only for certain situations.
If nothing is in the account that would cause concern then there is nothing to worry about.
If someone has crazy fraud stuff or national security going on in their social media accounts then of course they should be worried.

Don't put on the internet or emails /texts what you wouldn't want discovered.
