Petition for Alien Fiancec(e) - Specifics Question

Firstly, Hi everyone and nice to  meet you! Long time lurker first time poster here :)

I tried a rudementary search via google but couldn't find the exact answer I was looking for. I just started filling the paperwork out today (hooray!) and ran into a problem. I'm not the best record keeper (Trying to change that) and I don't remember the exact dates/date ranges of my employment, and my addresses. I remember exactly the months and the years, but I can't remember the exact days I started each job (I only remember the day I started my latest job). Because I'm a contractor, I have a lot of employment history for 5 years. Most stints I've done last 3-4 months at most, which is why It's kind of hard for me to get the exact day of the month for every one. I do have the exact list of every job in that 5 year frame with month and year, because that's how it is on my resume.

Again, for the addresses. For one address I was only there a few months but did file a change of address for my mail, but after 2 months or so I moved to another place and filed another change of address. Again, I remember the months and year but not the exact date.

I guess my question is how exact do I have to be? If I put the first of the month for the month that I remember, or if I put just the month and the year is that going to suffice, or am I going to be penalized if I'm off by any amount of time and be rejected?

Should I run an official background check on myself and my fiance so that we can both make sure our exact dates for everything are correct down to the day of the month five years ago?

Thanks,

that might not be a bad idea, although that could be difficult out of the country...... I would think whom ever  it is who handles your application will take into consideration your construction background, moving around like that is not unusual for the trades...... they are people on the other end of this.....

It seems all so overwhelming keep your thoughts positive and if they want more information they will ask it will delay you a bit but from what I see not always very long over simple things from what I can see on this site.

Actually a Network Analyst/IT representative. A lot of  IT related jobs are contract based these days, especially when you're just breaking in. I definitely remember that my current job was Oct 26-now,

The one before that was June-Sept, before that was Sept-June. Just not the specific day of the week.

In my case, I'm not a contractor in that sense. I'm not a consultant, but rather I work for a firm or firms, for a specific company for a set period of time. I suppose it's more like a temp, but the term they use is Contract to Hire or Contractor. In any case I don't do that sort of work anymore. I'm wondering if it would be better to call all the firms for all the different states I've worked in for exact days, or if I should do what all other HR departments recommend, and put the first of the month as an estimate.

List your dates with a "guesstimation" day but with a true month and year. Use a separate paper explaining the problem you have encountered with the dates. Explaining that the day is your guess but the month and year are correct to the best of your knowledge. Be sure to label across the top of the addendum your full name and that this is an addendum to your application so in the event the paper gets separated it can be traced back to your application.

Example: John James Doe                                            Addendum to I-129f                                         7/5/2017

Thanks! this is the answer I was looking for. Another question: If I work for a contracting/temp firm, but am contracted out to a specific company, under address should I put the address of the Contractor's office or the address I was physically working at? AKA: Should I put my employers address or the address I was performing the task.

Use the address of the "Home Office" unless the question(s) is where you worked physically.
