I just tried it and it said it was unable to verify my identity. I got the same problem when I tried registering with the healthcare marketplace in 2015 and again in 2016. However, I'm employed and I know my employer had no issues with e-verify so I guess it's just one of those things.

I had exactly the same problem.  And regardless of the law, I want to ensure that I get the job.  I'm not interested in arguing the legality of it with them, I just want to present myself in the best manner possible. Which means clearly showing I have legal status to work. Issues I have too if its just SSN Card, is mine says "Valid for Work with DHS Authorisation Only", which is likely to set off red flags. My biggest worry is even though I'm the best/most qualified candidate, that it will end up in the "too hard basket" for HR because of their own lack of understanding of the process (every single other employee is a citizen as far as I know).

Wondering if you had any problems with getting the new job. I am in the same boat as you. Would appreciate if could share your experience.

Thanks in advance!
