It took a month from the day they received it for him to get his visa?

After we turned in the documents, it took about 4 days for it to update in the system as being received...then it took another month for anything to begin moving along and for the status to change.   Then about a week for the status to progress to visa issued.  There are days in between every step!  For example, it did not reflect being received for 4 days!  It drove me crazy because they received it but every time I would call, they could not confirm it was received.  4 days of wondering, and then moved to admin processing...in admin processing for a month before the status update began to change again.  In total, after turning in the document,  it took about 6 weeks for the visa to be issued.

I am sorry if this is late!  Advice for Austin...Plan to stay all day that day, and to bring cash.  I cannot remember how much I paid, I think it was around $60.00 because I asked for two copies.  There is an extra fee if you pay with a debit or credit card.  I was told that they had to go into the vault to find mine and that it would normally take 2-3 days to get it.  I had to pay extra for them to get me the birth certificate within the day.  I was there early, by 8:30 a.m., and I was told it would be ready by 3 pm.  I explained that I would need to drive back to get my children from school.  They took my number to call me when my birth certificate was ready, and this was helpful.  I ended up driving around Austin, waiting until 3 pm.  They called me around 3:05 pm, it was a long day!  There is a huge delay in mailing it, straight to Mexico.  I was told by my lawyer that it takes a long time to mail anything from the US to Mexico, because there are extra security checks.  Plus the mailing system in Mexico meant that it could get to my husband very slowly.  If at all possible, if you know someone in El Paso, or near Juarez, who can walk over the birth certificate, I would recommend that.  We happened to have a friend who did this for us and it cut down the delivery time.  Best of luck.  I hope you and your family are doing okay during this tough time.

Hi thank you for your feedback! I plan on staying an extra day being that I am not close to Austin and I have cash on me just hoping this gets resolved. Thanks again!

I've sent a 2nd RFE to CD Juarez for my husband, unfortunately I was not lucky enough to have my birth certificate corrected during my trip to Austin, the hospital cannot be added because I was born with a midwife, per Texas state law  once a request for a name change, paternity established (which is why my birth certificate was amended)and a request is sent to the vital statics to have father's information updated the original birth certificate is disposed of from electronic and hard records that may exist even at local level. My mom never had a long form birth certificate issued for me as she did not see it necessary throughout my childhood, the short form was sufficient for school purposes, even for crossing to and from Mexico as a child. I did not have a long form birth certificate created for me until 2009 obviously well after my father's paternity had been established and this was as an adult to have a passport card issued, which was approved. I've reviewed Texas State Administrative Codes and rule 181.8 - supplemental birth certificates indicates this further more, 181.9 indicates that any information disclosed from the record is done so from the supplemental certificate created so basically the state would not be able to disclose the information from the midwife which is specifically what the immigration official is requesting, he wants the .."original birth certificate with the hospital name, clinic or exact place of birth and only the mother’s name; or evidence of the institutional birth; or a new birth certificate with the hospital name added by the office of vital statistics." I've requested from Vital Statistics a letter with their department letter head indicating this but my different request have been ineffective therefore we've responded with a letter indicating that I am unable to obtain this document and sent additional documentation indicating per the Vital statistics website why the document is unable and we've sent a certified copy from the county from when my paternity was established, an affidavit from the midwife releasing copies of my mom's record along with what I do have that is original from the midwife in hopes that this would help however it's not a certified copy from the state because as I explained before it no longer exist. My husband is still in Mexico, he is on his own renting a small room and for us it's been difficult with the holidays to stay in spirit, my children are missing their dad and my step-daughter is about to turn 15 in less than 30 days and she's very attached to her dad, we've held majority of allocation time with her so this is the first time her dad is out of her every day life for such an extensive time. For me it's been difficult to keep myself together, my husband has been my rock, he brings stability and is just so supportive always, cooking, taking and bringing the children to school, stopping at the grocery store and even cooking in other words, he truly meets me half way and always goes beyond to ensure our well being as much as he can so obviously this has been hard, all of a sudden I am doing everything, I have not been a single parent in over 5 years. I pray that this does not continue to hold back my family from beginning to truly live out the "American dream" we have so many goals established and we are one step literally from commencing a new cycle in our lives. As of today the documents are in CD Juarez awaiting to be reviewed, I will continue to update as we move forward.

I had to hire an attorney at county where I was born, request an open seal record from district judge based on the petition for parentage that was originally filed when I was a minor. It has been granted. I've send the motion to unseal record to TX Vital statistics. I'm waiting for a response. I'm hoping I will obtain a non-certified copy of my original birth certificate filed and send that information to CD. Juarez.

I did my interview at the Nairobi consulate on 31st May. I think the interview went well although the consular officer asked closed types of questions based on untrue facts,  that could easily mislead one to lie. I had to respond by first saying "No", and providing the correct information. After the questions and typing, the CO handed me the famous 221 (g) a yellow slip, instructing me to send my wife's recent tax transcript and passport. I sent the documentation on 4th June, free of charge through the DHL courier. Three days after sending, my case status changed from administrative processing to ready and has stayed ready ever since. Hoping and praying that my case will be expedited and I get visa to join my wife. It has been over two years wait and now this.
