Hello VJ Team I am so sorry for my constance disturbances, now I have read couple of post talking about second medicals after the one they took abroad? My Questions is how will you know if you will be requested to take another Medicals? Will you receive an Rfe for that? Is it before you receive your Intial Interview Letter for AOS , or after that? cos right now I am so scared that I dont know what to do so that if there wil be need for me to start contacting my family members for financial Assistance...... Please I need all you replies ASAP .

Second Q? How long does it take for GC to arrive? If you are call for the GC interview does that mean it is approved? Will the new EAD card received not be a barrier cos coupled with lots of post that I have read they request for alot of stuffs, such as joint Account, bills, Insurance and so many others but to me the EAD card will just be exactly one month at the time of the Interview and I pray I already get a job so I dont know what this might cost us.............. Please help lift our souls with you urgent supports

As per question 1... My understanding is that when you apply you have to have had your medical within the year before... (anyone else feel free to correct me). If it was more than a year before applying then they will likely send your RFE. But I wouldn't be too sure that they would accept the application to begin with if they had issues with the medical.

Q2) No one can say for sure how long it will take for the green card to arrive. A interview definatly does NOT mean approval. Even after a successful interview you may have to wait for FBI name checks to clear. I am not clear on your question about EAD. You need as much evidence as you can get at your interview that you and your partner are living together and sharing your lives as husband and wife. The EAD will allow you to work until your green card arrives if you are approved at your interview. Good luck with everything,

Kristina

I don't think the medicals in the US cost as much as the ones abroad. As I recall we paid $140 (US) for ours, in Boston. And as the other poster said, I don't think you need to get a second one unless your old one is outdated. But even if you did, it's not *that* much money.

After your I-485 is submitted you will eventually be called for an AOS interview. You may also be approved without an interview, but that is not the norm. The decision on whether or not to grant you a GC (based on whether they think your marriage is real) will be made *at* the interview. They may approve you "on the marriage part" but still need to wait for your background check to clear before giving final approval. So your plastic GC will arrive a few weeks to a few months (or potentially much longer if background check has not cleared) after your interview.

I do not understand your question about whether the EAD card would be a "barrier".

You would need a new medical if the one you had previously has been more than a year. Medicals vary in price according to the area and which civil surgeon you use. They can range from $100 to $350. If you file within that year time period you will need to file the vaccination supplement (I-693A) and that can only be filled out by a civil surgeon. Ours cost $50 for the vaccination supplement, because my husband needed a tetanus shot.

As for when the GC will arrive...well...there's no way anyone here can answer that for you. You file AOS, they will set you up for your biometrics, and then you wait. Other than that, there's not much else we can tell you. Look at timelines, you'll see the variance in time...it's crazy.

hello,

when we sent in my husband AOS/EAD. all we did was sent in a copy of the DS-3025 Vass. supplement worksheet from his medical examination for his visa. although we had to call aboard to get it. his brother was able to travel to pick it up and then they mailed it to us. we did our packet exactly like it shows here in VJ. we sent it all together in the same order that it says.

I figured that if they wanted another exam done then we would do it when they RFE us. I had called a local civil surgeon and they said they are not busy and they could get us in within 4 days of our call for an appointment. thank god we didn't get a RFE cuz it would of taken more money. I am not saying this is the right way to do things, but this is how we did it and it worked. best of luck to u all and god bless.

*** thank god another income *** LOL!!!

best of luck all,

Michelle
