Absolutely gutted! We thought our case would be straight forward. Went to our interview June 18th in London I lived in the USA for 6 years and never became a citizen (gutted) anyway we are now wanting to move back and we booked our flights for Monday the 10th July (a week)

My husband is in the UK with me and has been unemployed for 3 years so has not filed taxes. They denied me with the dreaded blue form! The things we needed to get them an I-407 to cancel my previous immigrant visa (never knew they needed this) some additional info on my joint sponsor (my Mother in law) but after that they then sent another blue 221g denial asking for my husbands taxes which he never filed because he had no income! We know they have all the info because it shows on the ceac status checker that they touched our case the 3rd July but it is I'll saying AP! We were hoping that it may have changed to issued or approved or something and we would get lucky andbi could leave the country together as a family on Monday :-( Its so frustrating that we can not speak to anyone. We knew from the start there was a chance that my hubby (of 16 years) and our 2 teenage kids (USC citizens ) might have to leave before me but we booked the flights thinking we would be fine plus to get a cheaper price on the of flights. Because its the 4th July the embassy is closed so we are hoping something changes tomorrow?

Anyone had a similar experience? What do you think the chances of getting this visa in my hands in the next few days are? We have asked the courier if we can collect my passport when they have it and the said possibly once I have the tracking number.

Thanks

Yeah time is deffo not on our side. Thanks for replying. I just wonder if the have approved my visa would it still be saying AP when it says the case was updated?? I need a miracle.

Yes. AP is just processing. Your visa can be approved and it can still say AP.

he still has to submit taxes. when he fills them out he will owe nothing to the irs but they still need to be filed.

I thought there was a minimum threshold below which you do not need to file. OP says her husband was unemployed.

Never ever buy ur ticket until visa is in hand! AP can take very long. I'm so sorry for this😐 I hope u get good news this week! I will keep u in my prayers🙏🙏🙏

Thank you, when we brought the tickets we knew it was a risk but it worked out so much cheaper even if I have to buy a new ticket for me. We need all the prayers we can get this week :-( My daughter is 14 and is so upset I'm not coming with her she is terrified of flying and wants me on the plane next to her when we start the new chapter. But I know we are blessed some people spend a long by time apart and hopefully ours will be overcome easily.

Thanks

Yes he has not worked for 3 years so nothing to file? He has sent them a letter to say he never worked hence no taxes to file? I'm hoping that will be sufficient, if not he will have to file with no income? I hope the letter is enough :-(

Correct. He either needs to file or provide an explanation of why he was not required to file. He did the latter, so it's just a waiting game.

Ty, will it change once the visa is actually printed or is there is still hope that it's approved and on its way to us?

It usually changes back and forth a bit as they perform various updates, but should show ISSUED at some point. However, having it in hand by Monday is a long shot...even if it gets to ISSUED, it's usually a few (business) days before it's available.

You'll have your passport back soon. It is very likely you won't be flying on Monday but it won't be much later than that. A week, maybe? Look on the bright side - it's only a week without your family. We were apart for much longer than that, most people here are. The longest we spent apart was 8 months and before I lived here the longest we had spent together was 3 weeks.  Not trying to make this into a competition over who suffered the most. I'm just saying if we can survive months and months apart, a week will fly by. Just keep busy.
