Hi All!

I have just returned from Marrying my husband in Tbilisi Georgia! YAY! We plan to apply for the IR-1 Visa. I have a few questions and hope you guys can help.

1. For changing my name on my social security card, is my foreign marriage certificate sufficient? It has a translation and apostille.

2. What documents can I add my husband to? I know I cannot add him to my bank account until he arrives. I was thinking I can add him to my apt lease but not sure what else.

Thanks so much!!

First at all , congratulations for ur marriage

Well for the changing name I think the certificate of marriage would be enough but if u can use other documents such a certificate of birth why not it doesn't hurt anyways

U can add ur husband as beneficery to ur debit card and insurance life or car , most bank doesn't allow u to add him on ur account as long he doesn't SSN  but u  can try ask them or try online banks  like state farm bank no physical presence needed to sign anything maybe will work out . good luck
