statuschange From F1 to Green Card

My husband sponsored me for Green Card last year in feb 2016. I just received a letter NVC welcome letter (ACL). 
I came to USA on F1 status, recently graduated and on OPT. Do i need to go through this process OR should i apply form i-485 directly, since i am already in USA. 

Totally confused as the form suggests, we will schedule your interview at US embassy or Consulate in Mumbai. And i am in US already.

Please suggest, Thank you.

It sounds like your husband filed for a visa, instead of Adjustment of Status for you, so they think you are abroad?  AOS doesn't even have an NVC step.

I don't even know what NVC is. I filed for AOS while completing my OPT. As I understand it, we had to file the I-130 and I-485 to be considered for residence.
