What does "processing time" and "straight forward" mean?

I see a lot of posts on here talking about processing times and having a "straight forward" case and I just want a little clarification. When people here say "processing time" for the I-129f is an average of five months, does that mean from mailing to getting the visa, from the date the lockbox receives it to when to when the stuff is sent to the embassy, etc.? And what counts as a "straight forward" case? I'm pretty sure we have one, I just want to make sure because often what I see as "straight forward" many others (and the US government) doesn't. Thanks!

i129f processing time is untill the i129f is approved (NOA2) from when it was filed at the lockbox.

Straight forward case is a case with no extra "issues".

For example: low fraud country, no big age differences, no previous marriages or i129f fillings, no significant religious obstacles, have had a relationship for a while and met in person (the more the better), met family, no significant income or educational differences, no previous criminal offense for either petitioner or beneficiary no previous immigration or travel issues involving the US for the beneficiary...etc etc... the more boxes you fill the more straight forward.. less complicated = less paperwork = better.

Perfect. There can be many variables that affect any case but as in this description if put together right the case should move along. Its the mistakes made in the basic application that bog down a case & the system. We made a couple & it cost us but it taught us too.
