Me and you are on the same boat. My fiance needs to get here by April since his lease expires that month and the owner refuses to do month by month. We also have our wedding planned for the last weekend of that month... we thought we had given ourselves enough of a buffer with applying in July. If USCIS starts mailing their approved applications to NVC like they use to instead of holding them for almost two months... and we get approvals this month... then I think an April POE is possible. Still hopeful here.

Aww that is super stressful for you. I really hope you are able to get things sorted in April. We all tried so hard to plan things out and the process just couldn't be predicted. I do have some hope that the NVC part will pick up.

@Jason&Sarah2025

I don't know if it will effect the k1 but I think as long as his perminent resident status doesn't expire his application for citizenship should be fine. The problem would be he won't be able to leave the United States if he's already entered by then, so he won't be able to return to Canada for his appointments.

Do you know if he will have to give up his permanent residence card before entering the US?  I tried looking it up but couldn’t find anything. Or do you know if being from another country that’s what they usually do?

I don't look at my timeline prediction. I've seen too many people surpass their timeline. I don't want any false hope.

I know we're all waiting for our NOA2, but have any of you guys started looking into packet 3?

I haven't. Things have been a little stressful. I know I need to start pulling things together but I am dragging my feet. I want to relax after work. LOL

I was asking because it mentions in the link above that we must bring both the original and photocopy version of the birth certificate, and i'm wondering if we have to have the original version of the petitioner's birth certificate for the interview as well. If yes, do you guys think that a certified copy of my fiancé's birth certificate is valid rather than have him send me his original ?
I feel like we need to prepare in advance for this since acquiring legal documents from the government can easily take anywhere from one to two weeks ... plus another week to send it to the beneficiary.
