Haha I like that quote.  I need to learn more about Einstein eventually.  My only real knowledge of him as a person comes from the book "The God Equation".  Really good book if you're into that kind of thing. Not directly about Einstein but he does make an "appearance" or two I guess you could call it.

I studied  psychology and philosophy... but my passion is definitely science and math... and yes I know The god Equation, Euler's identity... love it!

In matter of fact Einstein did not speak until he was 4 years old.. and his teacher described him as a mentally slow person...in fact many peoplebelieved he would never succees at anything...but he didn't give up..

very interesting facts about him...

I never implied stupidity on anyone's part (just got accused of it.) I'm speaking of highly educated and even well-traveled individuals who assume that the whole world enjoys the benefits of their own blue colored USA passport. Immigration makes the news and people have rabid opinions. Most assume visa waiver status like England and Japan enjoy with the USA.  I work in Regulatory in the medical device industry .. you'd think that people who devoted their careers implementing federal regulations on medical devices would intuitively comprehend federal laws on immigration processing.  So, no, I don't talk to scientists and truck drivers about this stuff and express surprise over their naivete .... Nobody wants to believe how badly legal immigrants get treated.

This is 1000x worse than being a legal gun owner.  The misunderstandings are fundamental and never-ending.

But, man, those comments about China were vile!  The funny thing is that in my visits to Shenyang there was scarcely any litter, every third car was a luxury vehicle and the Chinese are known to be pretty obsessed about grooming and wearing decent clothes.  The irony is that after my sons and I got back from Shenyang we visited Chinatown in Boston ... junkies, trash everywhere, vagrants, strip joints ... we got outta there quick. No way am I showing that to wifey.

My personal side is a bit different.  I live in South Texas working in the tech industry and those that I talk to are usually pretty highly educated on the subject.  With such a large amount of South American, Mexican, and Military people around me, many of them have experience with either B2 Visas, K1/CR1 (for military spouses) and just immigration law in general, and looking up immigration lawyers in this area is almost to the point of needing its own phone book.  All of our perceptions will vary depending on our surroundings unfortunately, and no matter how much wide knowledge we try to be about the world, our laws and citizenship.. our country is monstrously huge and the world even more so.

The opinion on China i can say is definitely becoming more and more common and it's as despicable as the opinion of Americans from what others see on foreign news.  China especially is huge like America and full of individual people, some good, some bad.

I'm an American. I'm not frustrated. This situation is normal and does not represent anything abnormal. I've never met an American who understands the slightest bit of the system.  At best they stare at you blankly or at worst sort pat you on the shoulder and say they "feel bad for you and all the 15 million illegal aliens."  Only immigrants (legal and illegal) and sponsors know the deal.  Luckily for me I have a million and one preparations to make.  I was a tad nervous about the RFEs even though I used an awesome service .. but details of RFEs have put my mind at ease (reports of obvious blunders, etc.)

My response came off as more intense than what I intended, sorry about that.  But still.. My point is what I meant.  Remember that just because something is important to us here does not mean that it should or can be important to every person that you meet.  Just as the laws surrounding agricultural growth and seed copyrights do not pertain to me, I do not care about them.. but this is my food and is something that farmers would consider very important, and something i "should" care about.

Almost every single American (I am the petitioner) I've spoken to thought that my fiance was just handed citizenship as soon as he married me. I don't expect anyone to know the ins and outs of immigration, but the undue ignorance I have experienced like this drives the current immigration environment we're in. Thankfully, I've used this opportunity to gently educate many people around me. :)

Seems like I’m late and missed the show.

Me too. Always late to the party. Ah well. Looks like the July thread is picking up. That's good. It was pretty tame for a while. I hope we all see some action in the next few weeks. My goal before moving is to get in better shape since stress has turned me into a fluffier version of myself. Also, I need to remain employed so my other goal is to maintain my sanity at work. Might have to stay off the forum during the do so I don't go into a frenzy of speculation a out timelines. Anyhow, hang in there everybody!

Hehe all good i'm sure the drama shall appear again in some way or another.. but again, my apologies.

I really need to stop checking my Timeline until after the new year.  It seems like every day it gets pushed back one more day and i'm stuck eternally chasing a date that will never arrive.

We aren't close to being done, and again, worrying about what MIGHT happen isn't going to help anyone's blood pressure in the current time.

I love what you said - and especially the last part because this whole process is stressful enough. We need each other :)

I am curious if anyone is starting to gather documents for the interview? Is this something I should have already done by now? Looking at some of those forms (like the affidavit of support) intimidates me :(

I know my FI is not looking forward to getting that police certificate. It involves a multi-day process of standing in looooong Romanian lines waiting on slowwwww Romanian stamps.

Happy new year everyone! One thing we can say for sure is that in 2018 we will be with our loved ones!!

My timeline just got pushed back again, and now we are in for Feb. That means moving in March will most likely not happen and shiiiit I'll be homeless. USCIS sure does know how to mess up one's plan... But we shall not give up :jest:

Checking if you got all the shots is a good place to start. Medical will happen sometime next year :)

Guys! Guys! Can someone check if this is an expedite?? Just came in!

Screenshot_20171229-144822.png

@JSCGPV can you check if this shows up on the scans or is it a case from late June but they put their receipt date accidentally?

@Rab.yer if it comes out as a July case can you check the wac JSCGPV finds.

@Geo_nerd82

it may be a june 30 case cause sometimes people write their dates as receipt date on that app. But I hope it is really a july case.

sometimes At the end of the month they are trying to touch the month so in the future their processing times will say "July 1st touched as of December 31st"

which is a really good thing so that that people can put inquiry and we can see some good move in both june and July!!
