Happy holidays

Ive just wrote this at the travel topic too but wanted to let you guys know in case anybody was wondering here;

------ repost from yes you can visit topic

Hi everyone

just putting my experience for anyone who's worried.

I'm at the stage of waiting for noa2 (day 100 today) and from Turkey (but traveling from Japan). I have a B1/B2 visa that I got around 6 years ago.

And this is my 3rd time this year,

1)  before petition in May for 12 days - they asked me lots of questions at this time nothing out of ordinary though but it was my first travel to US in 5 years so I thought it was normal.

 2) right after the petition filed (we got noa1 when I was in US that week) they asked how long and for what- I told them to visit my fiancé who's in the hospital- nothing else.

3) (yesterday) I've entered from LAX yesterday together my fiancé, we had two cats with us so we asked to line up together and I entered through the US citizens line. They asked if we were married and My fiancé said "soon", I said hopefully- the lady just said why hopefully- I said uscis is taking their time this year- and that's it, nothing else no tickets no how longs.

all 3 times they gave me 6 months (and I can't believe I have to go back and can't stay for that long....)

Oh my gosh oh my gosh.  I have to transport 2 cats and a dog to the USA so I'd be REALLY REALLY keen to see how your transport experience went and if you have any tips at all.

good luck july-ers!

I've recently made a visa journey account, and it has given me a lot of hope :D All this waiting really gets to you when all you want is to be with your significant other :(

I've been noticing they're averaging almost to-the-day six months out on the latest date they're processing (e.g., processing as late as June 22 on December 22, etc.). Obviously with a LOT of variation and earlier date applications getting skipped over, but that tells me that we should start seeing July applications getting approved next week.

And don't any of you number crunching nitpickers ruin this for me..... :jest:  That's the USCIS' job!

I AGREE!!!  Nobody is gonna tell us different!!! We are on the way!!! Hooooooooooo!!!!

It'll be interesting to see if ANY work is done these three days. If it is like any other office 1) many personnel will take vacation but not all 2) the bosses will be on vacation and those staff present might actually have time to just produce at their desks without the waste of meetings and constant interruptions 3) there might be an end of year push to improve these sagging numbers.

I "passed the Rubicon" of 180 days in.  I'll let my case ride 195 days or so and then craft a tasty note to my U.S. Rep. pointing out that while everybody is grandstanding about red hot issues like amnesty, illegal immigration and migrant terrorists ... all the law-abiding, normal folks in the system suffer.

I have a lot of experience with Immigration and I have a close contact in Homeland Security in Washington D.C.   What to look for in 2018:

1) There's a new boss at the Department of Homeland Security and she is shaking things up.

2) Look for chain migration to end .. in other words .. Green Card holders will not be able to enter the paperwork for I-129 or I-130 visas ... strictly citizens.

3) The Wall between Mexico and the USA will be built and the border will be militarized.  Deportations will explode.

4) The random Diversity Lottery Visa program will be ended (too many terrorists with loose ties to the USA have used this one). That means immigration personnel can focus on other visas like I-129 instead.

5) DACA - "Deferred Amnesty for Children of Aliens" will be the hot button issue. If the amnesty goes through, watch timelines double and much paperwork to be thrown out/lost. This happened to me in 1999 during my first marriage.  DACA will be Armageddon in terms of political battles with dire consequences for both the illegal aliens and for the citizens following the law.

I don't really know how these scans people do work but an update flashed up on my app saying a July date had been approved.

Is this correct?

This was an expedited case. The update was that the document was mailed.
