Haha. I actually told people not to get emotional due to delays. But my fiancée is very antsy and moody, and it’s rubbing off on me. Sometimes I wish I could hibernate and have someone wake me up when we have everything approved.

Well.. today marks 150th day since our received date !!!
...to think that waaaay back in the days when we filed, I assured my fiancee that it wouldn't take longer than 60 days for our K1 visa petition to get approved !! :)
maaan, we were so young and naive and now we've grown old and wiser...lol

I wish I lived in California close to CSC so I could go check to see how many breaks the USCIS employees are allowed to take ... knowing how lazy some employees can be, I can see some sneaking outside to smoke knowing well that files are piling up on their desks :(

My application was received on July 10.... I started to wonder last week why I had not heard back... we should be at the consulate stage by now (based on the timeline given to me back in July). Then I come here and discover the horror. What has caused these horrific delays? There has to be an explanation. My fiance's lease ends in March, and we have our wedding planned for April....  I had thought I had given ourselves a good buffer by applying early July...guess I was wrong...

Yes I hired an attorney who told us 4-6 months, but he would be disappointed with 6 months.  Well now it looks more like 8-9 months as today is day 159 for us.  My only speculative guess is that their case volume spiked significantly over the summer months and they have been backlogged ever since.  I have been very disappointed at the perceived lack of movement last week and this week but all we can do is hope they start to pick things up.  This waiting has been one of the most difficult times of my life - it is difficult waiting for something so important with no way to make plans or have any idea of when you will hear news from USCIS.  Good luck and hang in there.

Yes.

But this is nothing new they have it every year and still they have 60 work days in December. So even though it looks like a big back step, it is an expected time off on their side.

(I mean I've included that in this estimation)

---I hope I am not being too positive, I would feel awful to disappoint you guys, but this is the only positivish estimation I can give----

Please do, as my fiancée and I are planning a trip for her, and I am curious as to what was asked.

OK, so essentially how things went down was that the customs area was super, super crowded, and the customs agents seemed to not be paying particular attention to each person and kind of just wanted to get the crowds moved through quickly.

So Tiger was asked what he was in the country for, and he responded "Christmas and New Year's."  And that was essentially it.  They didn't seem to have time to give him much scrutiny and just basically sent him on his way.

Tiger follows the dictum that you answer any question posed to you truthfully and concisely, and that's it.  Answer the question and only the question, and volunteer nothing further.  They can ask for more information if they wish, and in his case this time, they didn't.

Good luck to you two for your own visit!
