:unsure:I need some help. Here goes:  I filed the K1 Visa app about August 1st and sent it by Fedx to the Lewisville, Tx service center.  First mistake, i did not ask for tracking number for Fedx.  The notice of acceptance never came by mail or email even though i included the form.  Its been almost 4 months now and nothing.  I checked my spam and junk folders but nothing there.  I have checked the USCIS web site for instructions on getting the status of my case but it asks for a case number which I never received.  I realize I should.not have waited this long but I knew the wait would be long so I shrugged it off and got busy with other projects.  Any ideas out there would be appreciated on how i can find out if my package even got to the service center and how i might find out if its being processed. Thank you.

Ouch, I really don't have many ideas but you can try calling fedex and ask even though it doesn't have a number.

matter of fact - something like this happened to us in March!

It got there but we never received a confirmation and nothing.

And as we figured eventually something will happen, we didn't take any action until June / July when we figured they would just send an approval.

Yeah yeah i know, back then I listened to 2 friends who got married in the US and everything went through in 2-3 months so that's how long we waited... after calling them and they confirmed, no receipt number = no case! and they recommended us to re send the pile!

sooo.. end of august when i visited my fiance again, we submitted again as i saved all the documents etc.

little did i know that these @$%%#^#%$ changed the forms about a month or so before, and we had to re-submit a 3rd time!

that's when we finally got our NOA1 on Sept 8th!

Don't wait any longer, if there is no NOA1, re-submit ASAP  but check online for the most accurate date or changes etc

N-400: 12/05/2023 (confirmed fingerprints are re-used)

Interview scheduled for: 05/09/2024

@Naes Hi! I was just looking at your scans for July. My USCIS app says "received 31.07.2017" (still a long way to go, I do realise). My NOA2 says 03.08.2017 and although I know that this is normal as the NOA1 contains 2 dates, I was just wondering what date is actually best to go by? When I filled in my VJ timeline I used the NOA1 date, however, I appear on your July scan (WAC1790414989).Also, I'm not sure if I should be on the July or the August filers group! :)

Your app (or your uscis website tracker info which should be same as the app)

vj wants receipt number but uscis goes with received.

you're a july filer and the scan will be when the July scan is being done :)

Hi! Hope everyone is doing good.

I've been reading May and June filers group. And their cases seem to be taking longer than expected. Making me a little worried, since I was expecting to be with my fiance by the end of February ( to have NOA2, NVC, INTERVIEW DONE).  What does everyone here think?

Happy thanksgiving everyone!

So... this is the distribution and the Gauss curve for the number of days between received and approved cases, for the month of May 2017 (as to 11/20/2017). I left out seven cases that seemed to be expedites. Additionally, I only considered received cases, meaning I also left out some cases that had already been touched, like Date of Birth or Name updated cases. The remaining cases (and big majority) used for this calculations made a total of 1522.

Those 1522 cases gave a mean of 169.95 days from Received to Approval date, with a stardard deviation of 9.46 days.

That curve below is actually very useful to get some interesting probabilities. If we assumed that June is going to follow a not very different pattern than the previous month, we could say that, for example:

  • The probability for a June filer to be approved in less than 160 days is only 14.65%.
  • That the probability for a June filer to be approved between 160 and 180 days is 70.95%.
  • That the probability for a June filer to be approved in more than 170 days is (an astonishing) 49.78%.
  • Or that the probability for a June filer to be approved in more than 180 days is (a still astonishing) 29.67%.

Hopefully the processing times will lower in the next months and we'll see how that curve will slowly be moving to the left and those percentages lower or raise in our favor. Fingers crossed!! :)

I made a little mistake on the last probability, by the way. That one was meant for more than 175 days. For more than 180 days is 14.40%. Sorry.
