July 2017 I-129F Filers

I haven't posted much but thought I'd update since I know there's a few other July 24s waiting - 

 

Feb 15 -I summited an inquiry online after USCIS updated their website to reflect that they're working on August 1 and we were officially outside normal processing times. 

Feb 27 - I get a response from USCIS that my background check is still pending.  I email my Congress critter that same day and ask them to make an inquiry because I've had some detailed background checks done by the USG before. 

Feb 28 - Congressperson's office gets back to me and says USCIS told them our application is "in the clerical stage." I write back and ask what that means (i.e. is the background check is still pending); I don't receive a response.

March 2 - Case status online updates to say USCIS sent an RFE on March 1. 

 

I can't imagine what the RFE is for. My work often involves meticulously following instructions on government forms (though not immigration ones) so I thought we'd be fine, but guess not. A touch is a touch, I suppose.

I didn't post a midday scan because I just got home from work. I did run the scan from work and there was movement on 7 cases. 5 RFE's, 1 case reopened and 1 document mailed. I'll include all of that in the full day scan if there is any more movement, if not then I will just post that.

hey everyone, I have a question, my interview is booked for the 3rd April, I plan on flying 1st of may, seeing as it's almost a month later would you book flights before the interview or wait? I'm also picking up my passport rather than delivery.

Do not book flights before you have your visa in hand...Many things can happen to delay your visa.  A mistake on the visa, Administrative Processing, etc. can delay your departure for days, weeks, or months.  It happens more frequently than you might think.....So beware of purchasing tickets before you have the visa.

If you are to book it, do it but get a travel protection plan so that if anything was to happen to delay your visa, you could change dates or cancel the flight. I understand why you'd want to book early cause flight prices changes and the closer to the date the expensive it is.

I didn’t received any response yet on rfe like by mail or online updates but my fiancé called uscis , spoke to tier 2 they said ur case has received and they are viewing our case and we should wait for their reply for a week or a month. 😴😴😴😴😴 waiting game going on now 🤷🏻‍♀️

Out of curiosity @Naes , when do we consider a month "complete"? As in, no or very little activity happening anymore? I've seen you mention that a lot of cases never get a digital update or are abandoned (RFE not answered). July is currently at 35% approved, will it get to 50%? Do you know what percentage for example the January 2017 group is at?

Hope you July'ers (do you have a nickname like the Berries of September?) get to 110% approved obv

Never. Because online updates never happen after people receive their approval. And last time I checked march it still had 2500 cases looking received. For me I don't care exactly if it is completed, if 1 vj member is still waiting I consider it not completed. Because I know they are not the only case waiting. I saw January 2017 filer just got their noa last month for example, or actually yesterday I saw someone who got their noa in about 360 days... so it is never over. But once processing timelines say for example August 1. Then I consider cases before June 1 mostly finished and they are now outliers, who had / needed / or who knows what cases.. 

 

However normally  as long as you can put an inquiry it supposed to be done (which means passing the processing timelines uscis shows) 

 

Addition: I also consider it 99% done when vj k1 approved graph reaches to 80%

 

*We had too many for july but ended up with "julies"

 

i also liked juliettes for my own liking but it was too girly...

 

june goes with "Juners" for short "junebug" for when they are trying to keep spirits up

I finally got an update on my inquiry in email last night...

 

Thank you for your inquiry.  We recognize your interest in the final adjudication of your pending application or petition and are aware of the difficulties caused by any delay in processing. We regret that we are not able to give you a timeframe for when we will review your case but the California Service Center is committed to processing this workload.  We will be making every effort to adjudicate your case in the most efficient manner based on our available resources. 

 

Has as anybody ever gotten this response?  No 30-45 days or waiting on background checks or anything...  really no valuable info at all about my case.
