Well, good, bad, or otherwise I finally heard something back from my inquiry. Looks like the standard answer, but at least it's something.:D

Why can't they, for once in their lives, just be honest?  They apparently answer to literally no one and no agency anyway; what's the harm in "We're severely backlogged and will do the best we can to get to your case in a timely fashion"?  Because unless you're trying to marry a terrorist, straight-up adjudicating your case will not, in fact, take 45 days.  Will probably take half an hour or less, in fact...once they get to it.

Telling us straight doesn't speed things up any, of course, but I'm a huge fan of transparency and honesty.  It just makes things easier to deal with.  And I simply do not understand why they feel the need for all this cloak and dagger nonsense when they're fooling no one with an internet connection.

I agree 100% and have been saying the same thing all along. I don't care if it's answer of "Yeh, we have it and I can see it, but none of us get in a hurry around here, so we will get to it when we get to it" At least you would know what is going on. Seriously though, how hard is it to say we are waiting on background checks, or we are backlogged?

Transparency would sure help ease a lot of tension.

Maybe you will hear something in the next day or two since you sent yours in on the 20th and I sent mine the 18th. But up until today I called everyday after I sent mine in, and it didn't matter if it was Tier 1, 2, or 3000, they all gave me the same canned answer. "I see you have a inquiry in please wait xxx days for a response, bla, bla, bla......."

I am on a call roster now and will be calling every day until they shall begin to memorize my name.

Assigned? Almost sounds like they should just be honest and say it's received and it hasn't been touched yet. That s ucks and I was surprised I got what I got back for an answer.

That's what I have been doing. I call everyday. I figure if they are going to make my life a living hell then someone at that office is going to get it right back two-fold! Some days I called twice!

If they allowed the foreign fiancé to call, I would call every day too, specially now that I’m at work but handed my notice... but wait for me NVC! Lol. All I’ve been doing is basically related to visa/moving/where can I visit in the USA. I’ve decided to go to Harry Potter/Disneyland as the first trip during forced vacation time/ waiting for work permit.

If I ever get my NOA2...

How do you track your case once it has left the NVC to the consulate? We have our NVC number but tracking only says that it has left the NVC and that we've gotten our interview date, which we have not (Montreal/Canada).

Is there any way to check as we wait for our packet 3/email from the US consulate in Montreal?

Hello fellow July filers. I figured I'd just write about my experience of the medical exam at the IOM in Nairobi.

First day I arrived at 7.20 my appointment was at 7.30am. Really doesn't matter when you're appointment is they serve you on a first come first served basis. We handed in our Assessment form which they send to you when you book your appointment, to the reception. They called my name a few minutes later and I heard my picture taken. After a while there's a guy who called all the day one's to the counseling room. We all sat and he started telling us about the whole processes depending on which country you're going to. After that we signed consent forms to allow them to take blood, urine and x-ray.

Next we went to the lab. They took our blood and urine. I handed in a passport photo too. Next is the x-ray. Dint take more than five minutes. After that I went to pick up my payment coupon. They send you to the vaccinations area so that they can determine which ones you need. I didn't need any so they gave me an invoice of just the other exams. I paid ksh 19242 ($188). I used MPESA to pay.

The next day I went there same time in the morning. There's a tray we drop our forms in for Day 2. You then have to see the cashier to confirm your payment. Then I waited and this woman called our names. I went into this room and they took my weight, measured my height and tested my eyes. Then I was sent upstairs for the rest of the physical exam. They tell you how your blood work, urine and x-ray turned out. I was given an all clear and a CD with my cray on it.  After that I went to the vaccinations area I didn't need any so they just filled in the dates I had the vaccines and gave me the certificate of vaccination. And I was done.

I typically spent 5 hour each day. But it only depends on how many people are there. They don't just serve the US it's other countries too like Australia, Canada and the UK

Go to the CEAC website and check the status of your case. Packet 3 is sent by email and its instructions which I already knew. If it says Case ready for interview you can go ahead and fill out the forms and book your appointment and medical.
