Ouch.

so it's either 6 months or longer, and some (I think France was this way for example) if you stayed longer than 1 year.

but I'm sure there will ask for one or the other. Check in the forums for Brazil cases.

Yes i am looking forward for that because i saw on usa embassy brazil they only ask for brazilian one

Hello,

My fiancé is applying for the K1 visa at the consulate in Rio de Janiero. We have received our NOA2, and we are gathering documents for the interview. However, we are a little confused about the requirements for the police certificates/background checks. My fiancé lived in Paraguay for more than 10 years, but he is Brazilian and was born in Brazil. The consulate asks for police certificates from all countries that he has lived in for more than 6 months.

So, we're wondering if the document we need from Paraguay is the  "Certificado de Antecedentes Policiales". If this is the document we need, what is the easiest way to get it?

We appreciate any feedback! :)

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I found this post above.

Well I've never heard a 15 days one so maybe it actually is legit...

I hope so!! Is it normal for our case not to be assigned even though they’ve started aug 1?

03/01/2019 - USCIS Chicago lockbox received case  for AOS/EAD/AP

03/21/2019 - NOA1 received hard copy via post (Notice date 03/14/2019)

Yes, unfortunately it is normal.

When i say normal, it just means it's what they do... although there's nothing normal with any of this!

Omg guys, I’m so glad I saw this! I lived in England for 2 years, this is where my fiancé and I met. Anyone here knows how I can get the police certificate in England? I hope this is something I can do online, because obviously flying to England at this point is not an option 😳

Ask to the Embassy of UK in where you live. They usually help with these.

It's easy. You can do it online. I did. It took 2 weeks for me to get it. You need recent passport style photo (you need to upload it on the website), contact to someone in england who knows you, proof of current address (I think it was 2 different ones). It cost me 51£ but I took 2 copies. 1 copy is 45£. It came by mail.

Thanks!! And what kind of info from someone in England that knows me I’ll need to provide? Phone, email? Just to go ahead and let my friend know they may contact her.

Oh I don't remember. For sure it was e-mail address and phone number. I remember I asked my friend for his address just in case but I don't remember if I used it. You need to know his/her occupation. Website said it needs to be someone with "highly respected" occupation. Like doctor, nurse or manager for example. My friend was my ex co-worker and one of the managers. They never contacted him though.

Yes it is.

if you stayed in a country longer than 6 months after age of 16. (America excluded) and some embassies may ask different times so check the embassy.

Also they ask for police clearance from all the countries that you ever been at, no matter how long you stayed there, if you ever been convicted there. Not sure if it's only required from embassy here or everywhere.

I have a question about medical tests. I just found out that in our Country (Ukraine) we do not have chickenpox vaccine. and it will not be until 2019. Could it be a problem for pass a medicine test before interview and  can  this affect the outcome of the interview? the same situation is about rubella
