I went ahead and filled out as much as I could until we get our NVC number. The form will be saved online for 30 days. As far as I've seen, it only asks for your USCIS application number (WAC..)

Should we fill in WAC or the new number we got from NVC? I thought we should fill in WAC number previously

I-485/765/131:

06/01/2018 - Sent AOS/EAD/AP through UPS, received NOA1 on 6/11. Received bio appointment on 6/15 and completed on scheduled date 6/29.

07/06/2018 - Submitted EAD expedite request with job offer, reason was financial loss. Received EAD/AP combo card on 08/04. AOS changed to 'Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview' on 7/24.

07/23/2019 - AOS interview was scheduled on 8/27. In the interview USCIS can't make decision because original K1 file got split up somewhere.

11/25/2019 - AOS got approved, received the actual card in mail on 12/2.

I-751:

09/05/2021 - Sent ROC through FedEx, delivered on 9/7, received message e-notification on 9/9 stated case was received, check is cashed on 9/10, NOA1 in mailbox on 9/13.

10/28/2021 - Fingerprints have been taken (Reuse).

01/17/2023 -  Case was transferred To Another Office

01/26/2023 - Case Was Approved

N-400:

08/28/2022 - Submitted N-400 online, NOA1 on 08/29/2022, with estimate time 10 months for decision. Biometrics is reused.

11/23/2022 - Interview was scheduled on 1/11/2023, it was a combo interview for I751/N400. Both cases were verbally approved. System hasn't been updated yet.

01/26/2023 - Form N-400 recommended to be approved --> Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled

02/06/2023 -  Oath Ceremony Notice Was Mailed, Oath on 2/22

02/22/2023 - Oath Ceremony, applied passport the same day, with estimated receiving date in middle of May. ALL DONE!!

My fiance is driving to Auckland tomorrow for his interview. We are planning to send packet 3 back to the embassy on Wednesday. My dad sent a whole bunch of documents for his affadavit of support and his signed form should be here tomorrow. The last obstacle is the NZ bank information for my affadavit of support. I have to call the embassy tomorrow to ask what to do since the bank won't be able to provide statements or deposits.  I hope next weekend we will have the packet sent off and just waiting on the interview.  Once the interview is done then we can sort of breathe for a minute until we do our big move.  This whole process is brutal but with everybody providing support at each step of the way we can all make it.

I wasn’t as excited as I could have been because I realized lately that most people I know don’t believe he’s ever coming.  When I called my mother, she wasn’t happy.  It was like she was disappointed and is now hoping he will fail the medical.  But she has never ever been supportive of anything I have ever done and I will never be good enough and my fiancé will never be either.  I was an exchange student and went to Egypt to begin with to get away from the abuse.  So, I decided we would not be including any of these people in any of our plans.  Wedding day is for the two of us to focus on each other because that is what all this is about.  All the side ####### like annoying people that disapprove or disputes over little things don’t matter.  My family might like him if they’d met him, but they were never interested in going to Egypt.  His family knew me since I was 15.  Got to find happiness in some of it.  Are you just anticipating all the life changes that are coming?

So are you estranged from your family?

Yes life changes. He’s a 47 year old doctor and I’m 23. We have a 24 year age gap and he has two kids. Known him for 4 years and never had cold feet. Now I do :(. He treats me like a princess and has never done anything wrong to hurt me but the kids aspect and him being older are now worrying me a lot for the future. Not sure if I’m ready anymore to make the step

03/01/2019 - USCIS Chicago lockbox received case  for AOS/EAD/AP

03/21/2019 - NOA1 received hard copy via post (Notice date 03/14/2019)

hey @Tea_pgtips, i understand where you're coming from. i'm 23 too, marrying a man who is 36 and from a well-respected family and about to have a step daughter more than half my age.

i think what's important right now is to understand that you are here to support your man, not to be a parent to his kids. if his kids love you, that's great. if they don't exactly enjoy your company, you have to understand why they do and what the age difference looks like. try to be their friends, don't force them to be your kids -- that needs time.

as for your man, he treats you well, and has for 4 years. what's there to question about his love for you or yours for him?

hope this helps. good luck. ❤

P/S: @Naes, super confused as to form DS-160 and DS-260. what's the difference? which one should i do?

Ds-260 is immigrant visa, ds-160 is non-immigrant visa.

as k1 is non-immigrant you should do ds-160.

I would think very hard before going through with all of this. I believe in love being able to conquer anything but a 24 year age gap and 2 kids is quite a lot.
That big an age gap can create quite a distance between you. I imagine his friends are around the same age too. What is your everyday life going to be like? Taking care of the kids and hanging out with his friends of the same age?

And in the future? In just 10 years he will be almost 60 while you are in the prime of your life.
Do you share any of the same interests?

He doesn’t expect me to take care of his kids. He is paying for and supporting me to attend law school and his kids will be there on weekends or alternative weekends. Yeah that’s what scares me about him being 60 lol. We share all the same interests and travel everywhere together. We really have fun together. It’s only the future I’m afraid or

Thank you as always, @Naes!  You and @JSCGPV are helping to keep hope alive for those still waiting.

And for those who may be despairing at the above numbers (as I was not all that long ago), I will add: my NOA2 is dated January 27, yet online my case is STILL showing received!  Things are far better than they look here, and there is probably a tidal wave of mail-only approvals making its way across the country right now!

KEEP YOUR HOPE ALIVE.  It's coming!

All those dates with no movement always brings up noa2 dated with them a few days or a week later! We also saw February 6 noa this weekend which was the day with no movement at all!
