That is what I find so frustrating about this whole process. We don't get to know why it is taking so long for them nor when we are gonna get approved. It'd be really mind-soothing if the online status shed a little more light on our cases' progress showing notifications such as "your case has been assigned" or "your background check has been completed succesfully". Hopefully one day they will enhance it all.

You guys are really about to get it!!! Just a little longer... :)

I agree and I was thinking about this too, at least until I read the Q&A by a guy who used to work at CSC. He said some applications would take 15 minutes from being picked up until approved. So even if we had a more "accurate" online status update, it would just show the same thing for 6-7months anyway - "we haven't even looked at it yet". The hardest part about this is that fact, I think, that there's such a backlog. And that literally nothing is happening to your case during that time. (But, by the way, I see you got your NOA2 - congratulations! :))

Hello Julies,

I went through and roughly figured the percentage of cases touched per the original total amount of cases for that day.

Remember this is a rough figure that could be off +- 2%. I  just wanted to give you an idea of where USCIS is at for the month, and what percentage of cases have been touched for a particular day.

I'm sure @Naes will have a more accurate total when she does a weekly. Plus she will have all those pretty graphs.:D

Date:

Percentage of cases per the total amount for the day that have been touched. (Rfe’s, Approvals, Name change, Etc.)

July 3

70%  of cases have been touched for this date.

July 5

60%  of cases have been touched for this date.

July 6

56%  of cases have been touched for this date.

July 7

30%  of cases have been touched for this date.

July 10

56%  of cases have been touched for this date.

July 11

75%  of cases have been touched for this date.

July 12

72%  of cases have been touched for this date.

July 13

51%  of cases have been touched for this date.

July 14

68%  of cases have been touched for this date.

July 17

39%  of cases have been touched for this date.

July 18

31%  of cases have been touched for this date.

July 19

35%  of cases have been touched for this date.

July 20

42%  of cases have been touched for this date.

July 21

45%  of cases have been touched for this date.

July 28

28%  of cases have been touched for this date.

July 31

28%  of cases have been touched for this date.

Thanks @JSCGPV...very clear..

And that I believed it's only based on cases that they updated online... Because I try to be positive and we don't know for sure how many cases are out there without been updated online... the percentage can be even higher...

Your welcome, and yes this is just what is updated online. I'm sure the % totals are higher overall due to USCIS not updating every case.

There are lots of NOA2s coming in mail without an update on case tracker.

Thank you!!! That is true. Our case was likely in a box or a big pile all this time until it was dusted off, flicked through and then approved. So 7 months for 15 minutes... the backlog must be huge and they must be so understaffed

Does anybody know how old the tax returns used as financial evidence can be?

Just the past years tax is what they ask for. Some people go back three years. Actually, unless your self-employed tax returns are not required per I-134 USCIS instructions.

Form I-134 Instructions   11/30/16   N
Supporting Evidence
As the sponsor, you must show you have sufficient income or financial resources to assure that the foreign national you
are sponsoring will not become a public charge while in the United States.
Evidence should consist of copies of any of the documents listed below that apply to your situation.
Failure to provide evidence of sufficient income or financial resources may result in the denial of the foreign national’s
application for a visa or his or her removal from the United States.

Submit in duplicate evidence of income and resources, as appropriate:

A.
Statement from an officer of the bank or other financial institutions with deposits, identifying the following details
regarding the account:
(1) Date account opened;
(2) Total amount deposited for the past year; and
(3) Present balance.

B. Statement(s) from your employer on business stationery showing:
(1) Date and nature of employment;
(2) Salary paid; and
(3) Whether the position is temporary or permanent.

C.If self-employed:
(1) Copy of last income tax return filed; or
(2) Report of commercial rating concern.

D.List containing serial numbers and denominations of bonds and name of record owner(s).
