They say they have the file.  It is just "pending" assignment to an adjudicator.

Well, I guess that is something, it just seems strange that they are still working on early June when the front date is almost August now especially since the processing dates are getting slightly shorter at the moment

Hi guys. We are from July 31 and there is a case of July 31 that says it was received at the local office just this month. What can it mean? we still do not know if it's us, but we'd like to get out of doubt.

Just curious and question...but dont want to make u more anxious...

Could it be that it delays so long because u have 2 kids to take with u too ?

From deep bottom of my heart I really hope u and rose will get approval soon...

I hear it both ways.  In the Q&A with the adjudicator (a few years old) they said they like those files.  They get multiple "credits" for a single petition.  Kids are easy since they are just traveling with a parent.  I've heard the opposite, too.  They need to confirm that it is actually the child of the beneficiary as many high fraud embassies see nieces and nephews being passed off as children.  I'm not sure if that could even be caught at the USCIS stage.  It would be the embassy that would questions that.  Who knows???

Gosh I really hope you guys get the approval you deserve soon. Sending all my love.

I hope you get your situation worked out too.  There are a few horror stories when it comes to lawyers.  Yours seems like an easy fix.  Hopefully it will go smoothly.

Just to add some more fun, the case that was started and assigned on January 24 now says it was assigned on February 5.  Same number just a change in when they say it was assigned.

Did you call them or get a letter or was it updated online? I know people say to call two weeks after NOA2 but the NOA2 letter states to wait 30 days. Do most people just ignore this rule?

I was going to wait 30 days... then 2 weeks lol until I saw that others with NOA2 dates similar to mine were calling and getting case numbers, so I gave it a try, too. The lady I talked to on option 5 was nice and didn't seem bothered by my calling in less than 30 days.
