Hey guys me again with another question as my lovely fiancé is again freaking out.

when filing, it asks if you have ever had any convictions. Which I have no and neither she.

however (sigh) in my youth i think i was around 15/16 (now almost 25) I was arrested twice for basically nothing (i once accidentally called the police on myself haha) and I was given a “reprimand” (a telling off) which I was told would be wiped from all records when I turned 18. However this doesn’t appear to be true.

I havent given this information to UCSIS as my lawayer said I was never convicted of anything and have never been in trouble since.

I am not sure if this will come up on any scans or anything. Anyone know about this stuff? Any fellow UK have a similar experience.

as usual, your guidence is most welcome.

I think you are overthinking everything. They are mainly looking for Felonies, Terrorist activities, Hard Core stuff that you were actually found guilty of.

I do hope so she is just freaking out a little bit as we were told it would be gone from any record at 18 so I thought when questioned by anything I would answer no because of this, in turn I feel we may have messed up somewhere.

I think at worst case, and I mean worst case scenario, they would send an RFE asking you to explain it.

To ease your mind a bit , why don't you try and go over ds-160 and check what questions they ask there? You'll see what their concerns are really are.

it is teenage thing and just verbal, so as John said I don't think that's what they will be looking for either.

I think it's the beneficiary though so it's not on the petition. Even if they do background checks those are only America and international crimes.

Which is fine I can do that. It’s just stressful as we were never told any of this would or could be a problem from our lawyer 🙄 figures.

I just looked it up and it does ask if I have ever been arrested which is true. But I don’t know how to follow up on that to explain. Would it be in the interview?

It was a silly teenage thing and an over exaggeration really. I just didn’t know it wasn’t wiped which I was told.

On DS On the petition it asks if you have ever been convicted. I told my lawyer I have been arrested and he laughed and said no, convicted.

I also had a previous ESTA where they ask if you have ever been arrested or convicted and we put no because we thought my record had been wiped and I still entered the country without fault.

So now we are, freaking out.
