I have a question about the police report that needs to be given during the interview process. My fiance lives in Guinea. He used to live in Ghana but left there in 2013. I noticed that on the state department k1 visa site, it specified that the beneficiary needs a police report for each country where they've lived for more than 6 months after the age of 16. 

 

Does that depend on the embassy where the interview is taken? My fiance's interview will most likely be in Sénégal. Does anyone have any information on the Sénégal embassy in regards to the police report?

 

We checked with Ghana police. They said since he is outside the country, it'll cost him $500 to get a police report that will only be valid for three months. 

 

I just want to make sure that it's necessary to get the police report even though he left Ghana 5 years ago.

Hi @Kadija Koroma, the police report is dependent solely on where the beneficiary has lived. Where his interview takes place has no effect on the police reports. I hope that helps, good luck!

Fiance just got home to check the mail and there it was, he called me straight away showed me the envelope page 1 of 1!!!

Does anyone know the approximate length of time an RFE takes to be approved?  I received my RFE Monday January 22nd and returned it immediately on the 23rd.  USCIS "received" the RFE 7 days ago on January 25th and the wait for approval is nerve wracking.

The current trend has been around a week or two, but can take up to, or over a month. I wouldn't stress, as I'm sure it will be real soon and you will hear you are approved.

There was one scan, but it's one of those "no update" days. So either the end of day scan will be great or we just wait for the letters....

I've also read this in a few immigration news articles too. It sounds like it is an unintended consequence of stricter immigration laws (something to do with re-directing Green Cards away from NVC?) .

Yes! NVC is getting back to normal!

 

This delay was not really about NVC btw it was uscis not sending the approved petitions.

July 10th filer, we just received an email from our attorney showing our NOA2 (dated January 27th)!!! No update on the app, and I still haven't received my copy. In fact, I had just come home from checking the mail and being upset that there was nothing from USCIS when my fiance messaged me with the good news (he got to the email quicker) and I jumped up and down, laughed, then cried. Jumping may not have been the best choice for someone who is 9 months pregnant, but I don't care. We are one step closer to being together as a family <3 I hope good news comes to all of you soon, as well!!

Gross salary before taxes. Some put I do and explain some don't put anything and explain.

 

when trying to understand problems about this things don't search by asking if it's ok but make a google search with the keyword denied. So you can actually see one or the other has ever caused denial in the past.
