Hello fellow July filers!

I am not sure if this is the appropriate place to ask this question, but maybe one of you can help us out.

We received our NVC case number yesterday and are now waiting for it to be sent to the consulate in Amsterdam. I was wondering whether my fiance and I can already start applying for the visa and completing the "6 steps" from the NVC and even scheduling the consular interview, or if we need to wait for instructions from the consulate?

Thanks a lot and good luck to everyone on this forum!

Hi, just a bit confused regarding the attached file. What is it asking? Thanks for your help.A43AC212-1238-4D32-B528-115ACF09BFF4.thumb.png.bc655b69153157add79698a28116d3c5.png

This is on the Affidavit of Support, right?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this means that, if you've petitioned for a visa on behalf of anyone else BESIDES the person for whom you're now filling out the AoS, you need to note that in this section.

Our NOA2 is dated January 23, 2018. I am filling I-134 form in preparation. So I should put my fiancé's name right? This is not asking about previous visa petitions? Thank you as always!

If your are the U.S. citizen then it is NOT your name it is the beneficiary's name or your fiancee. Her/His first last and middle name. then question 27 is simply the word "Fiancee".

I think we're gonna need a seasoned pro (cough, @Naes) to weigh in here.  I don't see why you would be filling out your beneficiary's name in this question when another entire section of the AoS is all about them.  It is self-evident that you are submitting this form on behalf of your beneficiary, and it would make sense that USCIS would want to know about your past attempts to petition for a visa on another person's behalf, so I'm sticking with my original answer here, that you would answer "None."  (Assuming your current beneficiary is your first time attempting to sponsor someone.)

This is how I currently have this question filled out and how I will be submitting it unless I'm corrected.

So you've filled out your AoS already?  I'm looking at my in-progress one right now.  Part 2 is a bunch of questions about your beneficiary.  Part 3 is "Other Information About the Sponsor," which is where #28 from the original post is found.  Why on Earth would they ask you 17 different questions about your beneficiary in the previous section, then in the next section, be like "Oh and bee tee dubs, who are you trying to sponsor again?  We're too lazy to look at the previous page.  Tell us this information again please."  That makes absolutely no sense.

What DOES make sense is the USCIS trying to ascertain if the sponsor is a serial petitioner or something to that effect, which could possibly indicate something shady going on.

What reasoning do you have for filling out this question in a completely redundant and pointless way, versus in a way that provides the USCIS additional information about YOU, the sponsor?

EDIT to add: The question goes on to say "If none, write 'None' in the space for name below."  If they want you to answer the name of the current beneficiary (who has already been the subject of multiple questions in the previous section), then why would "none" even be an option?  The only way "none" is an option is if the current beneficiary is the first time you have petitioned for someone.

Mine was filed out 6 months ago when I submitted my petition along with my DS-160. All of this is part of Rapid Visa's service you pay for.

I have no idea why and I asked the same questions, but Rapid Visa said this is how it is done.
