Curious:

Are petitions from certain countries approved at a higher pace?

Example:

Canada/UK > Asian Nations?

Not asking out of any underlying prejudice, simply wondering due to the similarities of lifestyle in those nations.

I don't think so outside of the predominantly Muslim countries that are undergoing "double secret probation"!  Their petitions are definitely impacted.  I believe the rest of us are just at the whim of the adjudicator.  The Philippines is one of the busiest areas for K-1s and CR-1s.  Some people fly through quickly while others wait.  I don't see a pattern.  Filipinos who filed weeks after me have already been approved and have their interviews scheduled.  We are still waiting for NOA2.  No rhyme or reason I can see.

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

It is required to have the visa in their passport for PDOS and Peer Counseling.

GCP (Guidance and Counseling Program) is for K-1 Fiancee and IR/CR-1 spouse ONLY.

RFEs are not a bad thing.  They put those petitions off to the side and once they are satisfactorily answered, the petition is approved.  I have seen cases where it adds less than a week to the process.  RFE at least shows the petition was touched.  Some people are waiting with no updates or info at all.  I would kill for an RFE right now!

I assumed that an RFE would add a lot of time to a petition, but I guess it doesn't have to, if you respond quickly with the requested information.  And that would be better than just sitting and waiting without any information.  Good point.

Hi guys, I'm new to this site. I filed for our K-1 in July with a receipt notice of July 24th. Still haven't heard anything. So glad I found a community like this, hoping it might ease the anxiety of waiting even if only a little. My fiance is in Turkey and the politics between Turkey and the US have been far from pleasant recently, really hoping that doesn't affect our application.

I wouldn't worry about it affecting your application.  What goes on politically has nothing to do with you guys as individual people.  I don't think it will make them prejudiced against your fiancé.  The only thing I worry about is that there will be unrest in the region and that the Embassy will be closed.  I can't see CO staff taking out political issues on individual people.

I would eat my hand to get a RFE at this point. I just want something. You have no idea how hard it is to not get bitter about the fact that my case isn't seeing movement. I have cried, binge ate cookies, slept like crapola and now I am further reminded that my future is on the desk of someone who is taking their SWEET EVERLOVING TIME.

So yes. I've been lurking to not spread my cancer.

When filing the form I 134 , is that sent to the NVC or does one bring that the day of the interview?

Thank you!

interview.

the fiancé will be asked for that form, so they need it before the interview as it will be a required document they hand over. whether they read or not depends on the officer. Some never look at and some do. philipines I'm sure they do or any Asian country because most are Asian officers and most are nosy anyway and want to see how much the petitioner earns.

Hey everyone! July 5th filer here and terribly anxious as we are almost on day 210.

I was just popping in here to say this forum has eased my anxiety from afar. But now I am getting worried as we haven’t received anything yet the same as most of you all but I am mostly worried because our case is different as I overstayed on my ESTA for a week due to a medical emergency. And because I am a mental health sufferer and it had to be noted and we gathered enough evidence from my overstay to prove I did go to hospital in the states and started therapy when I returned.

I was just wondering if anyone could ease my fears on this as our lawyer stated he sees absoloutly no reason for us to be denied or RFE

Me and my fiancé have been long distance for almost 5 and a halfyears so we are ready for this to be over!

Hope some of you receive your approvals today!

I can't give you expert advice on your case.  It doesn't sound like something you should be penalized for.  But that is just my opinion.  I hope that it is over soon and you can finally be together!

Thank you, If i am using a sponsor then we will have two forms of I 134 correct. Mine ( the petitioner) and our sponsor .  Even if i don't have current income i fill one out correct?

if you grossed more than the required guidelines then only 1 134 if you need a sponsor then you 134 and the sponsor needs one and their supporting evidence that they can support. (tax returns, income, assets ...) also wouldn't hurt for the sponsor to write a sworn statement stating they will provide support if for some reason you cant.

I really really hope so as I’ve never been on medication or anything and haven’t been in therapy for a really long time because I am so much better and knowing it could hurt my case would be awful. My overstay wasn’t pass the 180 days either. Who knows? I’m sure everyone who filed in July is overthinking as much as me! But thank you for your opinion! I appreciate it.
